Chapter five

Kai and Damon were sitting down stairs on the couches half arguing while Rain was getting a shower and Bonnie was getting supplies

"and i broke into the Oval Office and took a picture of my self in the window, looking all JFK but then i was like, wait, how am i going to get these photos developed?" Kai rambled while Damon sat there frustrated

"oh, my god just answer the damn question" Damon snapped "how are we going to get out of this twilight zone?" Damon asked but Kai just looked at him curiously

"i got a question for you first" Kai said and Damon huffed annoyed "why do you think we're stuck on a repeating loop of May 10th, 1994 doomed to relive a solar eclipse forever and ever and ever?" Kai asked intrigued with Damon's past

"how the hell should i know" Damon said drinking his Bourbon

"i heard you tell Bonnie this was your own personal hell and Rain also said you said it, I'm curious why" Kai explained

"I found everything you asked for" Bonnie said walking in tired "can opener, shower drain, grinding wheel, jam, pocket knife, volume 0 of the encyclopaedia, a nail and a black marker" Bonnie listed then tipped the stuff out of her bag and put them on the table and Kai grinned "now what?" Bonnie asked

"can't show you with my hands taped" Kai said smugly, they had tied him back up after he went to try and apologise to Rain because they didn't trust him

Bonnie then picked up the pocket knife that was on the table "Bonnie" Damon said but she just ignored and cut the tape off

"thank you" Kai said smiling and then rain came into the room with short shorts on and one of Kai's favourite tops and hair wet

"okay fine" Damon said not noticing Rain

"ah Rain" Kai said smiling and she just looked at him with a straight face "wait- is that my shirt" he said pointing at her

"yeah" she said sheepishly "hey if you want my forgiveness your gonna let me keep this shirt" she said seriously and he huffed and nodded

"how's this pile of crap gonna get us out?" Damon asked referring to the stuff Bonnie tipped out of her bag

"I'll explain as soon as you tell me what you did on May 10th, 1994" Kai said determined

"what difference does it make?" Damon asked angrily

"put it this was: Bonnie's magic is one part of the equation, my as-yet undisclosed knowledge is the other which means you would be hitching a ride home for free" Kai said staring at him and Damon sat next to Rain and put a hand on her leg and Rain didn't mind as he always did this but Kai tensed up "i just want to know if you deserve to come along" Kai said trying to get a reaction out of Damon by making him move away from Rain

it worked because he stood up now grabbing the pocket knife and Kai's collar "or i could just torture you until you say something useful" Damon threatened while smirking

"if you torture me, ill get mad and then i wont want to help you" Kai said then turning his head to Rain "what kind of person needs to have that explained to them?"

Rain stood up and took the knife away from Kai and let him go then he started laughing "there will be no torturing of any kind" Rain said walking towards Kai and they both sat on the couch while Bonnie and Damon talk

Rain leans her head on Kai shoulder while he opens a jar of jam "maybe because i don't want to talk about the worse thing i ever did" Damon explained

"now I'm listening" Kai said shoving jam in his mouth using his hands

"ew" Rain said lifting off of him

"what?" he asked with a mouth full of jam, looking towards her and she just scrunched her nose up in disgust

Damon and Bonnie went into the Kitchen to have a little private chat, leaving Kai and Rain alone "so what up with you and Damon" Kai snarkily but also curiously

"what do you mean?" she asked messing with some off the stuff on the table

"well when you two were sitting down he um- he touched your, thigh but like his hand was high not in a friend way" Kai explained, jealousy exploding off of him but Rain didn't seem to notice

"hmm? i don't know since we met he's always been like that" she said shrugging "oh we did sleep together once but that was a drunken mistake" she said casually and Kai's head snapped to her's and an angry pout grew on his face

he muttered something but Rain didn't hear what he said and gave him a confused face "what?"

"nothing" he said and laid down on the couch so his head was resting on her thighs and he was messing with the can opener

Damon and Bonnie came back in frustrated "I need to be entertained while i work" Ka said and a small smirk was stitched on his face "hell story, please" Kai sung and then Rain started to run her fingers through Kai's hair "that feels good" he said softly and he smiled at her

"remind me not to kill him" Damon said angry to Bonnie

"maybe tell him your story will take your mind off of it" Bonnie suggested

"whose side are you on?" Damon exclaimed

"the side where we get to go home to the people we love" Bonnie said and Damon gave her his look and sighed

"fine" he then looked over to kai and rain who were quietly giggling to each other "in may 1994, i was living here" Damon said catching their attention "I'd come home to walk the straight and narrow" he then went on about how Stefan and him were bonding, which made Kai bored and he closed his eyes but Damon didn't notice yet and carried on, about how Stefan warned him not to feed off of Zach and his pregnant girlfriend

"perfect our savour is insane and narcoleptic" Damon said finally seeing Kai's closed eyes

"hey he isn't that bad" Rain said frowning

"thankyou darling but I'm awake" Kai said keeping his eyes closed and missing the slight blush that rose on Rain when he said 'Darling' "let me guess you killed the pregnant woman" Kai said bored

"shut up, Kai you weren't listening" Damon said frustrated

"i was listening, in my sleep" Kai said in a duh tone "you were hanging out with your nephew Zach who you call Uncle Zach because that's not confusing" Kai said baffled by the Salvatore logic "plus pregnant lady Gail who had a big bull's-eye on her chest. got it" Kai said not needing to hear the rest and Rain pinched him and gave him a look

"tell me you didn't kill a pregnant woman" Bonnie said looking at Damon in dis-belief

"oh that's totally what happened, why else would today be his own personal hell?" Kai mocked and Rain hit the back of his head and he looked at her

"stop being so mean" she scolded and he just rolled his eyes then Damon walked closer and crouched down in front of Kai

"the only reason your alive is because you could get us out of here and you could help and you don't have answers, your just a man-child with jam on your fingers" Damon lashed out but Kai didn't look fazed at all

"okay. to get home we'll harness the power of the eclipse using a mystical relic, its called an ascendant and it looks like this, Damon" Kai said awfully calm and maintaining eye contact with Damon while holding a model replica of the ascendant "the last time we had it was n the Pacific Northwest, Oregon" Kai said and Rain looked at him confused and was about to say something before he put a finger to her lips to keep her quite

"we?" Bonnie looked at him confused

"it belonged to my family so here's a little blood to get you started" Kai said cutting his finger "now all we need is a locator spell to pin point t whereabouts" Kai said and Damon and hm stood up

"do you think you can find our way out of here Bon Bon?" Damon said turning to her

"hell yeah" Bonnie said and Rain jumped up from the couch

"great, well lets get to work, i miss my bed" Rain said kissing Kai's cheek and walking away
