Tang Shi was like a war god. The venomous zombies were beheaded as he cut his way out, and the people behind him were happy to be able to benefit from his effort. However, those who were far away from Tang Shi also wanted to run out, but they were soon drowned by the great number of venomous zombie. As they approached the door, Tang Shi deliberately slowed down and the people behind him couldn’t wait to rush out.
“Don’t move! Raise your hand!”
The outside of Sleepless Town was surrounded by the police and the dark night was illuminated by the police lights. The survivors who had experienced two hours of hell were excited even if they were pointed guns by the police. All of them shouted, “Don’t shoot! Don’t shoot! We are humans, we are survivors!”
When the leader of the police heard this, he immediately ordered to rescue the survivors. But before they could get close, the venomous zombies in the Sleepless Town also ran out with the survivors. They pounced down the survivors in front of them and started to eat as if no one was around. The police were frightened and tried to deter in words but nothing worked. They could only shoot.
In the midst of chaos, no one noticed that someone had sneaked out of the security line by the wall. It was exactly Tang Shi. He quickly disappeared in darkness.
Tang Shi returned to his rental flat, took off his blood-stained clothes and threw them into the bin. He went to the bathroom to take a good shower. Tang Shi was happy when he felt the element energy in his body. This night’s adventure was worth it. He collected 0.8 single-digit element energy in just two hours, which was one step ahead of the day of awakening.
The incident in the Sleepless Town immediately alarmed the government who commanded a thorough investigation of the matter. As it was very shocking to the public, the senior executives decided to classify the incident as a top secret. They declared to the public that it was a crime committed by a crazy murderer and spread out an order for arrest. No one knew the truth better than Tang Shi. Sleepless Town usually had hundreds of clientss every night, but less than 20 people survived that night.
That night, someone tried to go to Sleepless Town, but the city was shrouded in a strange fog and there was no entrance at all. The client found it very strange and called the police. When the police arrived, it was not long after the end of the world. But they couldn’t enter, nor knew what went on in the building. They could only surround the building and wait for people inside to come out. However, no one would have thought that they would wait for two hours. When the white fog finally dissipated and the police wanted to get closer, a few people with rotten skin rushed out from inside. They were very aggressive. The police tried to warn them but those people didn’t listen. The police had no choice but to shoot them.
After Tang Shi left, the police attempted to go in to save people. As soon as they reached the door, they were frightened by the scene inside. People wandering inside the building were not humans at all. All of them were seriously rotted. They attacked at the sight of human race. The police couldn’t deal with the issue, so they could only apply for the special forces to come over.
That night was surely not peaceful. The special forces entered the Sleepless Town and massacred until dawn before they killed all the venomous zombies and rescued the survivors. All the survivors were under custody by the military. The leaders knew the seriousness of this matter and strictly ordered all the people not to leak any information. Sleepless Town was sealed and the venomous zombies inside were secretly taken care of.
Wu Weiguo, the top general of the military district of City of Fall, was already in his fifties. He hadn’t rested for many days because of the incident at Sleepless Town. At this moment, he was fatigued and rubbed his eyebrows, asking the person who came in, “What did the survivors say?”
The soldier said seriously, “The first thing to appear was a large blue spider that attacked people. Soon after the spider showed, some people’s skin started to rot. Soon, more and more people got infected. In the midst of panic, people escaped from Sleepless Town and ran into the fog, but they all died.”
Wu Weiguo raised his red eyes and looked at the officer. “The police have been guarding outside. During that time, no one came out. Tell the doctors to confirm their mental condition.”
“Yes.”
“Is there any news from the forensics department?” This matter was too big for most leaders in the city to take the responsibility. Wu Weiguo could only minimize the impact as much as possible.
“We have got a result. Those who are crazy and rotten are infected with a kind of poison that we have never seen before. This poison is very contagious, and it can stimulate the central nervous system and allow the dead to move freely. The forensics department believes that the source of the poison is the blue spider who died on the fourth floor. As for the cause of death of the big spider, it is confirmed to be killed by a knife of about 4 centimeters wide and 60 centimeters long.”
