"Man, Ben is absolutely going to shit himself once he hears about this" Elijah whispered excitedly from besides me, his cheshire grin only getting wider by the second, as his eyes were heavily trained on the sight before us causing me to give him a deadpan look in return
Rolling my eyes at his antics, I took a deep breathe preparing myself before redirecting my gaze from Elijah to what was in front of me: Blake and Franceska having a not so discreet fight
If the tension in the air wasn't a clear indicator they were going at it right now, their body language and mannerisms would reaffirm it to even a blind man
I watched as Franceska spoke through her teeth to Blake, most likely trying to hinder the fact that they were in a dispute and maybe she would've gotten away with it if only her hands weren't shaking so much and Blake's face didn't look so..
well.. I pondered as I analyzed his mannerisms, tilting my head very slightly to the right before eyeing him up and down slowly
well..like that, I thought bluntly as I watched his composure remained in a state of rigidness with his face mirroring the same hostility
"Man, it's like they want the attention" I muttered in disbelief before hearing Eli let out the softest of the chuckle
"Right, like atleast fucking sit down" he remarked before I began chuckling whilst shaking my head
It seemed as though he had muttered something because all of a sudden she morphed her face into one of annoyance before slumping down into the chair closest to her. Shutting her eyes, she leaned forward before placing her head in her hands and massaging her temples wearily
You shouldn't be watching this, I warned myself sternly, This is none of your business
Letting an exasperated sigh escape my lips, I detached my eyes from them and instead redirected my attention back to my studies
..for a total of maybe 2 minutes before letting my curiosity get the better of me and reverting my gaze back on to them
I'll be the bigger person next time, I waved off before getting myself even more comfortable in my seat
Hopefully things start to spike up so that we could actually hear them I thought to myself as I was already envisioning all the ways they would explode
Forgot how entertaining being with him was, I thought sarcastically
I couldn't help but chuckle at the absurdity of this entire situation, I mean truly
I didn't even think I'd see him again I reminisced, my eyes solely training on his face as my mind unwillingly replayed the highlights of the past
Especially not with another girl.. my inner voice unwillingly admitted leaving a cold feeling to wash over me as my chest suddenly felt a little tighter
Clearing my throat, I shooed away the thought
I suppose I shouldn't feel bothered that he has someone else but he's still an ex, I grumbled reasoning with myself mentally
"Oh my God" Elijah whispered, only partially breaking me out of my train of thought
"hm?" I replied impassively, still having my full focus on the self proclaimed happy couple
"I should record this for Ben"
I immediately snapped my head towards Elijah giving him a stern look of disapproval "Elijah", I warned, giving him my best intimidating face whilst he just stared back at me in pure excitement as though he had thought of the most brilliant thing in the world
"Elijah" I whined, creasing my eyebrows and letting my mouth fall slightly open only for him to completely ignore me and continue to search his pockets for his phone whilst returning his gaze to the couple
He can't ignore me forever..I thought, keeping my eyes trained on him as though I was a dog and he was the bone
Without removing his stare from Blake & Franceska, he reached for my chin, causing my eyebrows to rise and eyes to widen at his action before he redirected my gaze from him to them
"Show is this way " He smirked as I just let out a deep annoyed sigh in response
"oh will you stop sighing? Seriously, people are going to start thinking you're suicidal" he jokingly teased nudging my shoulder causing me to let out a small chuckle
"br-" As my ringtone cut me off, I gave Eli a guilty smile before reaching for my phone and answering
"Hello?"
"Hi is this Angela?" A feminine voice asked on the other end of the line
"Yes, this is she" I responded, "Who is this?" I questioned, creasing my eyebrows in confusion
"Hi Angela, this is Sarah Donemn from Chase Bank calling to discuss your mortgage payments. I see here you've missed a payment?" She asked all too knowing as my face went white
oh fuck..
"Yes, Hi! I apologize, you see I'm a college student and it's just quite challenging right now to make ends meet but if I could just get a few more weeks i'm sure i'd be more than capable-"
"I'm sorry ma'am but we have given you multiple extensions. If the payment is not made by the 25th we will unfortunately have to foreclose. Do you understand?"
