                                    Mason's words were playing in a continuous loop inside my head

I tried distracting myself by reading or listening to music, hell I even jogged to abstain from the thoughts, but my tactics showed to be useless as his voice remained to be on replay

I think what's killing me the most is the fact that he is right

He is right about it all, I thought as I sighed, closing my eyes while desperately praying to shut my mind

The doorbell rang causing my eyes to immediately open and snap towards that direction

I took a deep inhale mentally prepping myself before walking towards the door and opening it to reveal Taylor with her arms crossed staring at me in question

"What's the emergency?" she asked, keeping her tone casual and light as I fumbled with the hems of my sweaters 

"Where's the dead body?" She joked before continuing the act and looking around the apartment in fake suspicion 

I gave her a soft nervous smile before almost immediately biting the inside of my cheek  

"What's the matter?" she asked, creasing her eyebrows together, instantly noticing my anxious state 

"Well" I said before running my fingers along my hair, "I don't know how to say this" I muttered  before sighting and resorting to stare down towards my carpet 

How the hell are you supposed to tell your best friend the guy she's seeing just kissed you?

"You know you could tell me anything" she consoled, "I already know you're a dumb bitch so I doubt this will be out of the norm" she joked once more trying to ease the tension 

I took a deep inhale closing my eyes before looking at Taylor who was giving me a reassuring smile 

"Mason kissed me" I said slowly watching her every reaction 

"Uh yeah" she said eyeing me weirdly, "He liked you and then you guys dated for like what? 3 days or something so I figured in the midst of that time--"

"no no no" I interrupted her mid sentence shaking my head, "He kissed me today" I stated fumbling with my fingers as I saw her face crumble 

"What?" she asked softly, her shoulders slumping ever so slightly as her expression was now puzzled

Guilt arose from within resting on my chest as I saw her grasp what I had just said, "I'm sorry Taylor" I whispered resting my hand on her shoulder 

"I pushed him off of me almost immediately" I continued looking at her, hoping my face showed my honesty

She shook her head morphing a face of pain, "I know you did. There's no doubt in my mind about that. It just sucks" she whispered placing the front of her behind her ear, "I thought he actually liked me" 

"He doesn't deserve you and he is not worth your time" I said confidently, "You deserve everything you have ever hoped for and trust me, you will get it all"
