Chapter Thirty Nine

The second item is the Civil Rights Acts of 1964. This act was embodied to fulfill a more equalized nation thus resulting in promoting the general welfare by getting rid of any source of segregation and discrimination. For a more affirmative action, multiple sanctions were created as in the opportunity to sue any district that permitted segregation. This act strongly abided by promoting general welfare as it secured the safety of all citizens regardless of background. 

"You're missing something" 

I stopped typing as I frown before frantically scanning what I wrote once more looking for any misinformation or forgotten information but nothing caught my eye

I turned my body towards Blake who was sitting beside me drinking his black coffee as his eyes also scanned through my work

"What am I missing? I mean I know it's a little vague but that's simply because of the instructions that came along with the project and I-"

I got caught off by Blake leaning forward and planting a lingering kiss on my cheek leaving me flustered and rosy-cheeked

"I'm just teasing you mi amore" he spoke, his voice coming off raspy as he let out a small chuckle, "it looks good," he said nodding his head slightly in approval 

"really?" I asked excitedly grinning at him

He raised his right eyebrow up slightly as his lips twitched upwards into a smirk as his grey eyes analyzed my face before he shook his head in amusement

"Yes, really. Now get back to typing nerd" he teased 

"Hey! I'm not a nerd" I whined frowning at him before pouting just slightly 

"You're my sexy little nerd" he winked at me before leaning closer to me as his gaze fixated on my lips

"mmhmm nice try," I said before placing my hand on his forehead and pushing him backward causing him to let out a small chuckle 

I continued typing as Blake began his own tasks most likely regarding his work as we both sat at the cafe in our own little world

"Blakeeeee" I whine 

Blake looked up from his laptop looking at me expectedly as he raised his right eyebrow 

"Hi" I said cheekily 

Blake narrowed his eyes on me slightly before getting back to work 

Currently, we're still at the cafe

I finished my project half n hour ago but Blake still had a bit of work to do so now I'm just waiting for him to finish

To keep myself semi entertained, I've been scrolling up and down on my phone and laptop but both ran out of battery so I've had to find another source of entertainment:

annoying the fuck out of Blake

"Blakee" I sing song but this time he completely ignored me keeping his attention on the computer 

I pout slightly before getting an idea as I began tapping on his forehead 

"Blakee" I said tapping on his forehead 

He didn't say anything but he creased his eyebrows for about 2 seconds
