Split String of Fate:(Killua x Reader x Kurapika)

~The Talk~

        Your P.O.V 

        You follow Gon into the room and are instantly met with stares. You briefly looked up to met the glaring eyes. Leorio and Killua stare at you with eyes mixed with both shock and concern. You eyes fell back to the floor as quickly as they had lifted, but not before seeing his face. He was also staring at you. His eyes were blank, for once in all the years you've known Kurapika, his expression were unreadable. You mind filled with thoughts each screaming to get your attention. 

          'He hates you now! He confessed to you and just ran away! You're a coward! You don't deserve him as a boyfriend, let alone a friend! You're heartless!' You try to fight the thoughts that bombarded your mind, but your chest still contracted and your heart raced under everyone's eyes specifically his. Gon noticing your discomfort, reaches up to hold you arm reassuringly. You look down and send him a small smile as he smiles brightly back. 

        "Come on Y/n! We all missed you." He say happily, making you smile. He radiated the usual bubbly happiness and it helped you push aside the voices in your head, however briefly. 

        "Thanks Gon." You say. 

        The both of you went to the group on the floor. They were no longer staring at you, but continuing with what they were doing before you entered, but you could still feel their eyes flickering up to look at you every now and then. 

        "Where were you?" Killua asks to break the uncomfortable silence. 

        "I-" You start, "I went for a walk..." 

        "Next time tell us when your going out on your own. We were worried something might've happened to you. We're still in the hunter exam you know, anything could happen." Leorio says softly, filled with genuine concern, his voice reminding you of your father a bit. You smile slightly, 'They were worried about me.' You laughed a bit into the back of your hand. 

        "I'll remember to let you know next time...Dad." You say in an attempt to return to your old self slowly. Your comment made Leorio turn bright red, he was fuming. you could tell he was holing back from yelling at you, considering what happened by the way his eye twitched and how he clenched his fists. You, Gon and Killua laugh at his expression. His head was so filled with suppressed steam you were afraid he would actually explode. 

        "Hey, at least she didn't call you Grandpa." Killua says leaning back on the palms of his hands and sending you a wink. You blush slightly, but hide it behind your laughter. 

        "Why you-!" Leorio shouts about to explode, but he get interrupted unexpectedly.

        "Y/n," You hear someone say from behind you. Their voice painfully familiar and dead pan it sent chills down your spine. 'Not now, not this soon! I still haven't sorted thing out yet!' You begin to panic when you turn to meet Kurapika's face. "Can I talk to you for a second." Your heart raced and fell at the same time, you didn't know what to say. You weren't ready. What if you messed up again? You could only force your head to nod and stiffly get up and follow him into the hall way. 

        You followed behind him, only seeing his back as he took calm even strides down the hall. He suddenly stopped when the two of you were a good distance away from the room and turned to face you. You froze and held your breath preparing for the worst. What was he gonna do? Hit you? Yell at you? Tell you that you couldn't be friends anymore? You were terrified you couldn't get your lungs to work. He took a deep breath then looked up to meet your eyes. 

        "Y/n, I'm sorry." He says. You stare at him with disbelief. 'What on earth could he be sorry for? What did he do? I was the one at fault here!' 

        "Kurapika what-" You start. 

        "I'm sorry Y/n. I shouldn't have sprung my feelings onto you so suddenly and expected you to answer just as quickly. I want you to know that I only wanted you to know. I didn't intend to put you on the spot like that, and I really don't want you to feel uncomfortable around me or the group on my account. Don't avoid us because of my mistake."

        You eyes widen and you mouth falls into an "O". "K-Kurapika, you aren't at fault here! You were only expressing yourself to me! It was me you was insensitively cruel to you by running away. I-I" You eyes fill with tears, "I'm so sorry Kurapika." You press your palms to your eyes in an attempt to stop them from crying, but to no avail. "I-I didn't know what to say!"

        "I-It's not your fault!" He stutters unsure of how to act, "You already have the stress of the exam and it was insensitive of me to pile on more." 

        You stare at him through foggy eyes and still felt the immense guilt weighing you down. "Kurapika..." You say in a quiet voice for only him to hear, "The reason I... It wasn't because of you... I'm just really confused right now. I didn't know how to react, how to answer you. I want to answer you! I-I... I-I need some time..." Your voice trails off and you begin to shudder. He instantly pulls you into his strong embrace and starts patting down your hair as you cry into his chest. 

        "It's okay. I understand..." He says in a soothing voice. "I'll wait for your answer, but please don't pressure yourself about it. You need to focus on surviving and passing the exam, okay?" You couldn't bring yourself to say anything, you just nod into his chest and stay in his comforting embrace. "Friends?" He soon says pulling away and extending his hand out to you to shake. You smile slightly, caught in between feeling sad and relieved. You shake his hand, not sure which you were really, sad or relieved, but you couldn't bring yourself to feel happy in that moment.

      I'm sorry this is so short. I've been trying to update as much as I can, but there've been a lot going on lately and i don't know how often I'll be able to update.
