Your P.O.V:You were now standing on the dock of an average sized boat facing, what seemed to be and uninhabited island. It was covered in various different trees and plants you've never seen. There were so many plants that they seemed to form a wall that no light from the outside could ever penetrate. You squint your eyes in an attempt to stare further into the forest, but you couldn't. You could see nothing but trees and colorful plants. You couldn't sense any dangerous animals, but that hardly made this phase any easier. It wasn't the animals you had to watch out in this phase, because here, you were the animals, both the predator and the prey.
Earlier you all drew rectangular plates from a small box and on theses plates were the numbers of the applicant you were supposed to hunt. If you took the number pin of the specific applicant indicated by the plate, then you gain 3 points. If you manage to keep you badge you gain 3 points. Finally, you gain 1 point for every badge to collect other than your target's and yours. By the end of the 7 days of being on this island, to pass you needed at least 6 points.
You stare down at the plate you drew from the box. As soon as you got to remove the plastic seal covering the number, your heart stopped. You stare wide eyed and filled with conflicting emotions. You were so caught up in staring at your targets number, hoping beyond hope that you just read it wrong, but also hoping you didn't, that you didn't notice the sound of feet approaching you.
"Hey Y/n!" You her a cheerful voice say, pulling you out of your thoughts. You look up to see a bored Killua, and a cheerful Gon, the latter of which called you. Your eyes met Gon's and behind the usual glow, there was something else -Fear maybe?
"Oh hey Gon, Killua..." You say turning back to look at your card, then deciding you needed to sit down. You crouch down to sit and lean against the boat at continue to stare at your plate. The two boys join you, sitting on either side of you.
"Who's your target?" Killua asks.
"Who's your's?" You ask holding your plate you your chest to hide the number.
"Relax it's not you or Gon." He says leaning back against the ship, but eyeing your plate.
"Same!" Said Gon, "What about you?" He continues leaning closer to you. You sigh and shake your head.
"Same for me. My target isn't any of you guys."
"Okay so on 3 we show each other our targets. 1-2 and 3!" Gon shouts the last part as we all pull out our plates and show each other.
Silence falls between the three of you as your eyes travel from Gon's card, to Killua's. You could feel Gon and Killua's eyes widen when they stare at yours and yours widen at Gon's.
"Wow... you're really unlucky Y/n" Gon says, his voice shaking a bit out of fear, but probably for himself and you.
"You're one to talk Gon." You defend, "You got Hisoka! Are you going to be okay?" Gon just shrugs and leans forward holding his card in front of his eyes.
"I know i should be scared, but I feel more excited." He says.
"I'm worried about you Gon. Hisoka's a creep!"
"You should be worried about yourself!" Killua scolds flicking your head, you instantly reach up to rub it, "You got 301, Gittarackur!"
"So?" You say trying to sound confident, but failing as your voice cracks.
"So..." Killua begins, sounding annoyed, "You have to be careful, I get a bad feeling from the guy."
