Sorbet shark x mermaid! reader (Platonic)

Whoopie i have some idea for this

I love sorbet shark- my child (;'༎ຶД༎ຶ')

The land above the vast seas...you were curious yet afraid, you were a beautiful mermaid, the scales off your tail glimmer as the sun from above shines into the cold waters, you truly were curious and really did want to go up..it you were very much afraid too, your best friend and life long companion Sorbet shark always talks about wanting to join the land cookie's and how fun it'd be up there rather than staying in the endless sea, it sort of wanted you to come along since they were your best friend.

"Y/n! Today i saw a ship and there were many pirates celebrating something! I even rescued one! But unfortunately he lost a leg..", Sorbet started off happy until the end part where their tone got sadder, you patted their hair and smiled, "I'm glad that a cookie was at least saved, you did a good thing Sorbet." Sorbet then smiled, showing their sharp teeth, "thank you y/n! You're the best friend i never had!" You couldn't help but smile back, Sorbet's smile is just contagious!

For the next few days, it was normal until Sorbet looked a little fidgety and played with their fins, "y/n..i wanted to know..", you looked at them with a confused look, "what is it Sorbet?", Sorbet looked hesitant but they found some courage, "I found a way to get legs and...I'm just a little lost on what i should do..", you looked at their sad and guilt ridden face and held their fin, "Sorbet, it doesn't matter what I want, if you wish to see the land cookies then do follow your heart, don't let me stop your dreams.", Sorbet looked at you still guilt ridden while you just sighed and pulled them into a hug, "Sorbet, I know how much you really want to see the lands above our seas, so, do it for you. I can always listen to your stories and..you can act like my eyes if i was on land!"

Sorbet hugged back slowly, "I..guess..", the guilty tone still in their voice. You pulled away from the hug and continued to hold their fins, "you can always visit me you know? If you lose your shark form forever..I'll try my best to come up and visit you instead.", Sorbet gave some thought and finally decided, "alright! I'll do it! I'll get my legs! Oh and I'll be sure to bring some stuff to you!" You smiled, the brightest smile ever, "I'm glad you finally decided!"

And so Sorbet kept their promise and always showed y/n the goodies they found on their adventures while y/n happily listened to their tales, perhaps Sorbet can convince y/n to join in their adventures..it gets lonely sometimes without the presence of their best friend after all!
