Once Alex learned how Remy died, he felt sick to his stomach.  Even if he hated Remy, it was a terrible way to go. But he shuddered when he heard Charles' statement explaining why he did it... that Remy was going to kill him because he was no longer useful.

It was the same story as Preston.  Remy was just discarding who he felt could no longer help him climb the ladder. Remy only brought disposable people in his life.

Charles' trial didn't last long.  He didn't fight any of the charges and pled guilty for being an accessory to Preston's murder, as well as guilty for Remy's murder.  Alex was in the courtroom as they led him away in handcuffs.  Charles looked around until he found Alex and smiled.  He may be going to jail, but it seemed like he was finally free.

Remy had destroyed Charles nearly as much as Preston.  They had been in love many years ago, but when Remy wanted to enter the entertainment scene, he had changed.  He was so desperate for fame that he was willing to sacrifice everything.

When he had found Preston on the streets, Remy was convinced that he could use him for his own purpose. Charles, who was still blindly infatuated by Remy, agreed to everything Remy devised.  So he hid his affection for Remy from the public for over ten years while Remy played his games.

He had to watch Remy court Preston. He had to witness the kisses, the nights spent together, the cursed love songs... Charles endured it all, thinking that he still had Remy's heart. But he had found that he was just another disposable pawn. His fate would be no better than Preston's.

But Charles loved Remy despite the pain he inflicted. Even when Remy hissed out his venomous words, he loved him.  And when Remy was falling the balcony, he loved him still.

Perhaps Preston and Charles were both victims in their own way.

Still, Charles choose to accept his penance, a fate of being alone behind bars.  He never resurfaced and he would never be released.

Shortly after the trial, Alex and Jaxon also retreated back to the ranch, which was quite convenient for them.

After the outage calmed down, people had started to pay attention to the details of Felix's live video of the memorial event for Preston.  They found something that caused another uproar.

Jaxon called Alex his husband, and Alex mentioned that they were married.

Jaxon and Alex were curious to know how the officer at the Gardens had known that they were married.  After he was finished with his questions, he said, 'you and your husband'. But he mentioned that he had watched Felix's video so they realized that he must have heard it then.  His small smile when he released them made a lot more sense too.

They were so caught up in the night's events that they didn't realize that they revealed it.

But it was hardly a surprise for anyone, including Jaxon and Alex. They were terrible at concealing anything about their relationship.

Aura was prepared and quickly released a statement about the two of them eloping on Christmas Eve, but had wanted to wait to announce it after Preston's event. However after the concert, they felt like attention needed to be placed on the trial so they delayed their announcement even further.

Alex and Jaxon had to spend the next day answering calls from Derek and the Reids, trying to explain what happened.  The Reids were shocked that it happened right under their noses, and that only Sheila and Kayla knew.  However they were overjoyed for them.

The concert, although tainted by the dark events, was somewhat of a blessing for Alex.  His career took off.  He finally finished his music video, completed a couple of full length albums, and despite Jaxon's protests, had gone on a couple short tours.
