I was alone in complete silence as Diego find Lila somewhere. And my mind could only think about is Katie. She's an exact image of Katherine, with the same laugh, same eyes, same nose, except their personalities. Katie, she's a bit aggressive and flirty, she thinks out loud, expresses her opinions, likes to figure out solutions by herself, is honest and direct, playful and casual, and likes to argue. I kind of figure her out in those hours we're together, she could be an open book sometimes.

I kinda miss her presence especially her nickname for me that even Katherine would feel embarrassed to call me. I can imagine her wearing a flowy dress just like the picture from the film, I want to see her again at the same time I don't. My feelings seem to be more confused as I even attempt to think about her, I know to myself that I can't love her, I can't get close to her, but it's too late for that now as I kissed her.

She doesn't have any ounce of Katherine's personality but I can't help myself to be drawn to her, I feel like she's pulling me to her, she's making me feel things only Katherine can do and I'm scared. Maybe if I saw her again, not in a blurred image but a real person would make me realize that she's not her but the desire to see her, to hold her, to kiss her, to be by her side,  is getting stronger.

I just wish that she would be there even if it's her shadow, I just hope she would be in that address, and safe. I may not have any idea why she's in the Grassy knoll, not just that with dad, I can seem to trust her as I'm more worried bout her well-being and not her betraying us.

All of my questions about her left to be unanswered as Diego came back to my side. He nodded at me which I return before leaving the apartment both intense.

We stop the car's engine as we arrived rather quickly as no one is outside this late at night. I step out of the car in a rush, Diego joining my side as we approach the building.

"D. S. Umbrella. This is it." Diego murmured as we got closer. I stopped midway to look at the entrance door of the building then look at the umbrella sign giving me recollections of the past.

"You okay?" Diego asked when he noticed my sudden halt. It takes me too long to respond.

"...Yeah, fine," I replied too quickly. "Just..." I signed moving closer to the glass door to see what's inside. "How long's it been since you've seen the old man?" He asked taking out the knife from his pocket then kneeling and starting to unlock the door.

"Forty-five years."

"That's a trip." I leaned on the wall sighing. "No kidding... You know, when I was stuck out there in the apocalypse, there wasn't a day that went by where I didn't hear his voice in my head." I said in a hushed tone.

"What was he saying?" He asked then stop trying to unlock the door. "Ah, shit." He mutters.

"I told you so." Diego scoffs softly at my answer.

"Well, if Dad's here, he's never met you before, so he can't say 'I told you so.'." Diego said in an undertone.

"I'm sure he'll find a way." I sarcastically smiled at him, exchanging a look with him before deciding to unlock the door myself, ending our conversation.

I spatial jump inside the building, and unlock the door from the inside, in a matter of seconds. I sighed opening the door walking out holding the door out for him.

"Right. Gotta remember that." He clears his throat as we walked inside.

We were greeted with a dark waiting area, I tried turning on the light of one of the lamps but it only flickered before dying out.

"Shit."

"Guess Dad wasn't much for home decor." Diego hinted as I punch a cushion in one of the armchairs and a lot of dust came flying out as if it wasn't been touched in ages.

"Feels more like a front."

"A front for what?"

"I don't know." I said in a low voice as I look around.

"Well, I'll take the left. Yell if you, uh... get in trouble." Ah, there is it, it's great to hear his inspiring leadership, it never gets old.
