After whatever happened in the restaurant, they all headed to the Shim's mansion. Ningning is driving this time while Jake and Engene are sitting at the backseat.

Ningning and Engene are hella nervous but Jake is just calm. Though deep inside, he's nervous too. Not for himself but for Ningning and Engene.

Engene never let go of his hand since they held hands, Jake had no intention of letting go either.

"You two should stay here in the car. I'm afraid something might happen" Jake said. Engene looked at him while Ningning took a glance through the mirror, quickly focusing on the road again. Her eyes are focused on the road but her ears are focused on Jake.

"No, we will come with you"

"You can't. I know how dad gets mad, he hurts people when he's mad. I don't want you two to get hurt so please stay here and wait for me"

"What about you? Why do you have to anger him even though you know how he gets mad, huh?!" Engene lashed out, tears falling from his eyes.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry, baby" That's the only sentence that came out from Jake's mouth as he hug Engene tightly.

"We're here" Ningning said, almost a mumble. She's just staring at the open door of the mansion where she can clearly see Mr. Shim sitting at the couch, looking so mad and furious.

"I'll go with you, please" Engene pleaded.

"You can't, baby, please listen to me" Jake sighed. He pulled away from the hug and cupped his face.

"Just wait for me here, hmm? I'll come back quickly as I can" Jake said. Engene had no choice but to nod. Jake gave him a faint smile, leaning closer to kiss his lips. He then kissed Engene's forehead after.

"Ningning" He called. Ningning turned around to look at him.

Whatever happens, never get out of the car and never let Engene get out. I want you two to stay here"

"Noted" Ningning said. Jake nodded and gave them a final glance before going out.

"Mrs. Yizhuo and auntie, please go to my car. Don't let them go out" Jake said. Mrs. Yizhuo and Mrs. Min looked at him in a worry before following what he said.

"Jake will be okay" Mrs. Min said, hugging Engene while Mrs. Yizhuo is hugging her daughter as well.

Jake went inside the house without uttering a single word.

"How many times do I have to tell you that be respectful just for once?!" Mr. Shim lashed out, grabbing Jake's collar.

"How can I respect you when you can't respect me as your son?!"

"You don't deserve my respect you brat! And don't ever raise your voice at me!"

"Then you don't deserve my respect as well. I don't care if you're my dad, you don't act like one anyways" Jake said. Mr. Shim looked at him angrily before giving him a hard punch on the face.

"Jake!" Mrs. Shim called. She tried helping Jake but Mr. Shim gave her a glare that stopped her from helping Jake.

"You never listen to me, is this what Sunghoon did to you? He influenced you in a bad way, I can see"

"Don't ever mention or drag Sunghoon into this! He never did anything! And you, you're the one who changed me! You changed me by forcing me doing things I don't want to do!"

"I said, never raise your voice at me!"

"I don't care! I don't fucking care! You're a fucking useless father, you dick!"

"Take back what you said!"

"No! Nothing would happen even if I take it back because you already heard it!" Jake said. He groaned when he received another punch.

"You need to know your lesson" Mr. Shim asked. He grabbed Jake's collar and pulled him to stand up, almost choking Jake. Then, he gave another harsh punch. Jake fell on the floor because it's way too harsh.

Mr. Shim took his belt off, rolling it on his hand. Then, he hit Jake's arms with it. Blood started to drip from Jake's wounded arms and the corner of his lips.

"Please, please, let me go out!" Engene screamed. He watched the whole scene inside the car and he badly wants to go out.

"Please!!"

"Stay here, Engene. You can't go out"

"But Jake is hurting! Can't you see?! Atleast give him a help! Fuck! Jake!" Engene screamed more, his tears falling nonstop. Ningning is crying as well, closing her eyes to avoid watching whatever is happening the house.

"M-mom, Mrs. Y-Yizhuo.. please help Jake, I'm begging.. please" Engene's voice broke while pleading. Mrs. Yizhuo and Mrs. Min looked at each other before nodding.

"Stay here, we'll help Jake" Mrs. Yizhuo said. Then the two of them rushed inside the house.

Ningning moved to the backseat and hugged Engene.

"He'll be okay, he'll be okay" Ningning said and softly caressed Engene's back.

"I– I'm scared. I want to go to him, he's hurt. Ningning.."

"Shh, honey, calm down. Jake will be okay" Ningning closed her eyes as he hug Engene even tighter.

Five minutes after, they saw Mr. Min carrying an unconscious Jake in his arms. Engene panicked and went out of the car. Ningning didn't stopped him anymore because he's too quick to move.

"Shit" Engene cussed when he saw Jake's situation. He's unconscious, has a scratch on the side of his lips and has lots of bruises and wounds on his arms.

"Son, go back to the hotel with Ningning. We will bring Jake to the hospital to get him checked" Mr. Min said. Engene had no more strength to fight further so he nodded his head. He felt like his energy dropped to zero after seeing Jake.

"Engene, are you okay?" Ningning asked and held both of his elbows.

"I– I'm good.."

"Come on, let's go back to the hotel" Ningning said. She escorted Engene back inside the car.

Engene closed his eyes as Ningning started to drive back to the hotel. He inhaled a large amount of air and sighed heavily. His heart was beating so fast while thinking of Jake. Another year escaped his eyes. He just let it flow as he silently prayed.
