I stayed in bed for too long so today, I'll give you 'A day in the life of Vasily Vagankov: Late to school edition'.

I took a bath at the speed of light. I butchered the job because when I came out of the shower, I still had bubbles on my right shoulder. I washed it in the sink like nothing happened. Wala namang nakakita.

I put on my uniform in my closet, buttoning my polo like a kid because of how I messed up and skipped one button. To hide my mistake, I put my blazer over, tucking the polo in my pants. I brushed my hair, leaving it messy because who would suspect that my curly hair isn't brushed properly?

After messing up my morning routine, I got on my bike and pedaled as fast as I could to school. I was already in the corner leading to the streets of the gate to the campus I remembered something.

I left my guitar and we have choir practice today.

"Vasily Vagankov," Miss Pres, Linda, read my name on her checklist right after I entered the classroom. I was so tired so humihingal pa ako. "Late." She wrote something, stopping when another guy came behind me. "And Tristan." She fixed her stand, looking at us. "Why are you late, Tristan?"

"Got caught dun sa - rally ba yun? SOGIE ata?" He waved his hand, dismissing it and walking inside, bumping my shoulder. "Tanginang mga bading. Pa-special." Then he acted as if he just realized I was there. Alam kong nakita na niya ako because he was grinning at me. "Ay, sorry."

"Alam mo namang ganun ngayon. You didn't get up early." Linda shook her head. "What about you?" she turned to me. "Bakit ka late?"

"Naki-rally yata," Tony, who's sitting front row near us, joined the conversation.

"Yes to SOGIE!" Moises yelled from his seat, mocking me. He then laughed with David, Brendan and Tony. And I know some of my other classmates did laugh, too, silently.

I ignored Linda and sat on my seat at the back. At some point, walking in the middle of rows of chairs, I almost tripped. Someone tripped me. But I continued like normal.

I was late but our teacher was much later than I was. He came twenty minutes after I did and his reason was because he also got stuck in traffic because of the rally. I'm so sure he's eyeing me from time to time when he is telling his reason. Nag-pretend nalang ako na hindi ko napapansin.

"Ibabalik ko na yung quiz niyo. Pakitabi for compilation, okay?"

I watched as my classmates were called one by one, getting their quiz from sir in his desk up front. I wasn't hopeful. So when I was called, I was basically just dragging myself to walk and get my paper. When I was in front of sir, he took one look at my paper and gave it to me folded in half, the first time he did that out of all that he called.

I didn't need to look to see what I got. I'm sure it was a low score. But I did look. I got two digits. An improvement. Eleven out of fifty.
