"What a drag.. Why did we pick this job again, Lily?" Gajeel asked agitated.
"Because you wanted something light so Amy wouldn't come after you." Lily confronted Gajeel with his own decision.
"Well I never thought it would be dragging supplies for builders! The job asked for strong men to aide on a construction site!" He even began to raise his voice.
"Yeah so? Providing aide to a construction site can mean anything you know." Lily replied. "You should be glad you didn't have to sweep the grounds or clean stuff." The exceed added.
And so Gajeel continued to complain about the job until they arrived back in Magnolia.

"Let's just get home so I can get some sleep.." The Dragon Slayer spoke.
"Are you sure you don't want to get something to eat?" A girl suddenly spoke to them.
Gajeel quickly turns around and finds Levy behind him.
"Levy, what are you doing here?" Gajeel asks surprised.
"I just came back from Era, got some new books and well.. Here I find you." Levy explains.
Gajeel hesitates. He would like to see Amy, but there's no guarantee she'll be at the guild. On the other hand, all he really wants is to get some rest.

As it took Gajeel forever to respond properly, Levy forced him to join her and have some dinner at the least before he heads home.
Levy is walking on a little ahead of them.
"Say, Gajeel. Why don't you just go home instead? It's not like you have to go with Levy if you don't want to." Lily whispers.
"I know, but I do like eating whatever meal the Strauss sister made.." Is the only genuine argument he can give Lily.
"You just don't want to cook, do you?" Lily asks, knowing the answer.

"Gajeel! Hurry or dinner will be served cold!" Levy shouted. Gajeel picks up his pace and quickly catches up with the tiny girl.

"Okaeri, Levy!" Jet and Droy yelled from across the guild as she entered.
"You guys, I have only been away for a few hours." Levy tries to calm down her teammates while Gajeel is heading straight for the bar where Lisanna is pouring bowls. The smell alone really triggers how hungry he truly is.

After receiving a big bowl of stew, Gajeel left the first floor and picked a quiet spot upstairs. Something feels familiar while he is eating. He turns his head to the left and finds Amy sitting in her usual spot.
She isn't doing anything, but staring through the window.

"Shouldn't you say hello to her?" Lily asks suddenly.
"I don't know Lily. Look at her, it's like she's not even here.." Gajeel replied to Lily.
"So? Ask her if she's OK."
Gajeel nods, gets up from his seat and walks towards her. He gently placed his hand on her shoulder.
"Amy? Are you all right?"
She does not seem to hear him but she does blink. Gajeel tries it again.
"Amy?" he spoke a little louder. To his relief she came back from zoning out.
"Huh? What is it?" she asked whilst turning her head to where the voice came from.
"Gajeel. Hi!" Amy now acknowledged his presence and smiles at him.
The dragon Slayer then sighs heavily as if he lost a lot of weight off his shoulders.
"You really know how to scare me sometimes. Silly girl." He spoke with his head facing the floor.
Amy also gets up from her seat and opens her arms.
"Welcome back. How did the job go?"
Gajeel does not hesitate for a second and takes her embrace. It surprises Amy a little how fast he wrapped his arms around her.
"Gajeel.." Amy then speaks softly, still surprised.

"That was the dumbest job I ever did.." Gajeel replies.
"But then why did you pick it?"
"So I couldn't get in trouble and you wouldn't get involved.."
