CHAPTER 23

"COMMANDER, James Castro is dead." Imporma ni Rafael kay Blaze na siyang inutusan ng huli na puntahan si James sa kulungan.

"What? How did that happen?" Tanong ni Blaze. Humawak siya railing ng rooftop.

"He was killed by the other prisoner, Commander," Rafael said.

Blaze sighed. "Okay. Hayaan mo na. Alam ko naman kung sino ang pwedeng mag-utos para patayin siya."

"Commander, I found out that few days ago. An Attorney came to bail him out," Rafael informed him, "of course, he didn't succeed to bail out James Castro."

Napangisi si Blaze. "Of course, I'm the Commander of all the division of Secret Service Enforcement Agency. If the police will dare to challenge us, they will lose a strong back up. Wala ng tutulong sa kanila kung sakali man na hindi nila sinunod ang sinabi ko."

"But Gabriel found that who's that Attorney, Commander."

"Who's he?"

"He's Alistair Villareal private attorney."

"Oh, no wonder." Blaze said. "All right. Umalis ka na diyan sa police station."

"Yes, Commander."

Blaze ended the call and sighed.

Umalis siya sa rooftop at bumalik sa opisina ni Jeremiah. Pagdating niya doon, kakatapos lang naman nitong makipag-usap kay Lester. Bahagyang yumukod sa kaniya si Lester nang malagpasana siya nito bago ito tuluyang lumabas ng opisina ni Jeremiah.

"Bakit ganiyan ang mukha mo?" Nagtatakang sabi ni Jeremiah. "Parang may namalan kang hindi magandang balita."

"James is dead."

Tumaas ang kilay ni Jeremiah.

"Someone killed him."

Natawa si Jeremiah. "Malamang si Alistair na 'yon." Aniya.

Blaze sighed.

"Blaze."

"Hmm?" Blaze sat down at the sofa and looked at Jeremiah. "What?"

"I have a business trip in Italy."

"When?"

"Tomorrow night."

Napatango si Blaze. "I'll come with you."

Ngumiti si Jeremiah. "By the way, how's the investigation about the explosion?" he asked.

"Gabriel didn't find out the culprit."

Tumaas ang kilay ni Jeremiah. "Forget it. Alam kong may kinalaman ang stepbrother ko sa nangyari. Sino pa ba ang may gustong pumatay sa akin kung hindi siya?"

Ngumiti si Blaze. "Are you afraid of him?"

Jeremiah tsked. "Afraid? Hindi ako natatakot sa kaniya."

Nagkibit ng balikat si Blaze. "You said it."

"I mean it."

"Okay."

KINUHA ni Blaze ang bag ni Jeremiah at inilagay ito sa kotse. "Get in," sabi niya kay Jeremiah.

"Okay." Jeremiah entered the car.

Sunod naman na pumasok si Blaze sa kotse at umupo sa driver seat. Pinaandar niya ang kotse saka ito minaneho palabas ng compound. Pinaharurot niya ito patungo sa airport. Isinuot niya ang Bluetooth headset at tinawagan niya si Thea.
