In the Physician's Quarters, Gaius, Gwen and I had placed Merlin stomach first on Gaius's bed while we try to figure out how to get rid of the serpent permanently.
Gwen says after I'd explained about the regeneration of the Famorrah, and she steps up beside me, bracing a hand on the edge of the bed, "So, let me get this straight. If you kill one, another grows in its place?"

I nod as I reply, "I'd heard such stories in the past, but I never thought they were true." Gaius leans over the warlock to paralyse the serpent's head in my husband's neck, making it grow still once more. "And, when I'd tried to kiss him this morning, it'd just felt... awkward!"

Gwen furrows her brows at me in puzzlement as Gaius flicks his bright blue eyes to me in shock.
"That's not like Merlin," The maid mutters.
"I know. I hope we'll get my Merlin back soon. I miss him so much," I say with a sigh.
Smiling softly, Gwen comments, "The two of you really are the dream couple!"
"I'm sure you'll get to experience it one day, too, Gwen," I say, still gazing at my husband.
"Maybe."
"That will silence it for awhile," The Physician murmurs as he leans back and dumps the cloth back in the bowl. He then pops off a cork stopper from a bronze tin and steam wafts out, into my husband's nose.
Gagging, Merlin bolts up on his hands and knees, looking disgusted. Putting a hand to his head, Merlin demands as Gaius closes the tin again, "What is that?! Arthur's socks?!"
