"I missed facetiming you" i said
"I missed it too. Why don't people just settle by calling it one thing, first they called it call with pictures, then skype, then video call, then zoom and now they are calling it facetiming ?" Johnny shrugged
Johnny and I finally got a chance to set a time for video chat, after a week of just texting and missing each other. It was tough. But we made it through. I guess it's life's way of saying you can't have it all, I mean with a boyfriend like Johnny, I don't want to complain about anything else. I couldn't have asked for more.
"Johnny" i laughed "no one ever called it calling with pictures" i said
"Whatever nerd" he snapped sipping coors banquet
He was still in his office at the dojo.
"Show me around, I haven't been in the dojo in years" I said
"Okay. Wait" he said getting up from his chair.
"Yes, flip the camera" I said and instantly regretted
"What's flip the camera?" He said turning the back of his phone towards himself. "Is this it?"
"Johnny. No. I'll teach you. Turn your phone towards yourself"
He followed
"There must be a button in the shape of camera and should have two arrows in it, like a reverse sign. Press that" i said
"There are only three buttons, two are for volume, the other is for closing down the smartphone." He said checking the side of the phone
"No. No. Johnny. No. Look here, look at me......yes.. now tap on your screen. Did any thing pop up?" i asked
"Oh yes, there's a red phone" he said
"Yes that's for cutting the call, don't press that" i said quickly
"There's a camera with 69 inside of it" he laughed
"Yes dummy, press that." I said
He did. I could see the dojo
"Now there's one more. It's a + plus sign, what does this do?" He said walking around and I guess he had pressed the button
"Babe I think I can share contacts with you. Let me give you Miguel's number." He said and pressed miguel, because in less than a second the screen said waiting for Miguel to accept your group call.
"Johnny. Johnny. Nooooo. Cancel it. Cancel it. Press the red button." I said but it was too late, Miguel had accepted the call.
"Hey Sensei....Hey.....Y/N???" Miguel asked
"Hey Miguel, how did you come here?" Johnny asked
"Sensei you called me." Miguel said
"No I didn't. I was showing Y/N the dojo by flipping the camera" Johnny said proudly like he conquered the world.
"Y/N did Sensei call you too by mistake?" Miguel said.
I breathed. Nice save. "Yes Miguel. That's what happened. I asked him to show me around, I hadn't seen the dojo in forever." I said
"Well you should come here. Mr. Larusso Sam, Robby, Hawk, I and Sensei are training all day with the kids, it's so much fun being a Sensei now." He said
"Yeah but I'll always be the biggest Sensei" Johnny snapped
"No doubt in that baby." I replied and gasped just as I said that.
"What?" Miguel said puzzled "Y/N why are you wearing the tshirt I gave Sensei last Christmas?"
We both stayed silent.
Johnny was about to say something when Miguel cut him off "what's going on here? Are you guys???? Nooo.... You can't. Are you?? Sensei??" He said worried
"As a matter of fact, we are" i replied
Miguel was in shock "what!?? How??? What??? Sensei what are you doing? Is this even legal" he said
"Hey enough Diaz. Ofcourse it's legal. She's your age you mathematical retard." Johnny said in anger "and what is the problem with that?"
No one said anything for a while.
"Miguel, can you please not tell this to anyone. We want to tell this to our families first. Can you please keep this a secret?" I asked
"Yes. I'm just a little shocked. When Sensei mentioned earlier he's seeing someone in Chicago, we all kind of assumed......well....not you" Miguel replied
"What's your problem Miguel?" Johnny said in anger
"Johnny, please calm down. He clearly looks shocked" i said
"You call him Johnny now?? How long have you guys been together for?" Miguel asked
"It'll be 5 months next month." Johnny replied
Miguel was amazed. "Wow. Wow. I don't know what to say."
"How about, I'm happy for you Sensei. I'm so glad you two found each other. I can see the reason behind your happiness now. You guys look great together. Any such generic bullshit would do to show your support Miguel" Johnny said raging.
"Johnny, please calm down. He's just in shock. Give him some time" I said
"I'm sorry Sensei. I'm sorry Y/N. I promise I won't tell anyone, not even Sam" Miguel said "i'm sure, you guys have thought it through."
"Thank you Miguel" i said
"Johnny??" I said eyeing him "do you have anything to say?"
"Yeah! Fuck off Miguel." He said in anger & started to press buttons "how does this thing end?"
"Miguel I think you should go, it was nice catching up with you." I said
"Yes, I should. Likewise" he said and disconnected
"Johnny? What the hell happened?" I yelled
"You had to call me baby." He snapped
"How is this my fault? You are the one who added him to the call. And what's wrong if he knows, that's one person less we have to tell." I said
"You could've just cut the call. I wanted to tell Robby first. He still thinks I put Miguel first. He doesn't say it out loud or anything, I just feel that he feels that way." Johnny said sadly
"Johnny, I'm so sorry about all this. But Miguel knows now and we can't do anything about it. Also he promised to keep his mouth shut until told otherwise" I said "We'll talk to Robby first thing when I come there, we won't wait till Christmas for him. Okay?"
"Yeh, I guess." He sighed
"My love, I'm really sorry about all this. I wish I was there with you right now." I said
"Yes I know" he grumbled
"Johnny, please talk to me. What are you thinking?" I said
"It's just that, Miguel's reaction got me thinking. We don't even need his approval or anything, not that we need anyones but you know what I mean. If this is how he reacts, when us being together makes no difference to his pathetic little life, how will our families react?" He asked worried
"I don't Johnny. It will be a ride, I'm dreading it to be honest. The only thing that helps me is that I know you'll be there with me." I reply
"I know baby. I'll always be there for you. I love you." He said smiling sadly
"I love you too Johnny." I replied
I had trouble sleeping that night. I kept thinking about how my parents would react, Johnny was 22 years older than me. 1000s of scenarios popped into my mind, if it began badly, it ended well and vice versa.
