Surprise!

Ever since the funeral the days have flown by. To give you an insight to what I mean, the funeral was on December twenty-eighth it's now May twenty-sixth. It's like I went to sleep, the pain still raw and I woke up in a whole new year with time ticking down.

The past couple months have been really hard to adjust to. Instead of everything being so fresh it's about having to cope with the fact that I can't turn on the computer and talk to him.

There's been so many things that I just want to tell him, or write to him and I can't send those letters, and I won't get any back. The other day I went into the kitchen and asked mom when dad was going to call cause I wanted to tell him that Felix got offered a scholarship to play football. The look she had on her face was one extreme pity and sadness.

It took me only a couple of seconds to understand that he wouldn't be. I did feel a tad bit of embarrassment for asking but as always she reassured me and didn't make me feel like a complete idiot.

I'll probably never get used to it but I have learned to cope with it ever since that happened. I've started writing down anything I want to tell him. If I ever think of something and know that he would have liked to hear about it, I write it in a letter.

We visit his headstone every Sunday before dinner and I place the letter on the ground. I don't know if someone picks it up and throws it away but when I go there on Wednesday by myself it's always gone. Jordan likes to believe that it's dad actually reading them, and I find myself liking that thought way more than mine.

Speaking of Jordan, or at least the other one. We've gotten closer to the Singer family, although they live in Florida they come up every couple weeks to have dinner and hang out. We found out they have a daughter my age, her name is Maya and a little birdie has taken quite the liking to her. By little I mean the loudest fucking bird of our group.

That's right, Micah has found himself obsessed with her. I have to admit it is pretty funny watching him follow her around like a lost puppy when she's up to visit. She's given him quite the chase but when I asked her about it and if she liked him, her answer was that he was way more attractive then the boys that went to her school.

It must be going well because Micah asked her to the prom. Which is tonight. See told you these months have gone by really fast.

Matt actually got enough balls to talk to Juliet and they've been kind of dating for the last two months. I say kind of because he's been taking her out but only when we're all together, which I don't count as dating. It's definitely progress that she's talking to him, but asking her to tag along when his entire friend group is there is not showing her that he's interested.

However he's another one that asked her to prom, she did say yes but only as friends. Though I might bet on them kissing at the end of the night.

All the girls are at my house getting ready, and they're parents are downstairs so it's extremely loud in here. But I find that I prefer the noise over the quiet now.

"Earth to Alex." Vi's voice brings me back to the present.

Before I can even answer her she's throwing a makeup brush at me.

I bring my hands up to cover my face, "What was that for?"

"For you to pay attention. We're almost done with Maya's hair and it'll be your turn after." She says.

"Okay, well I'm going to grab food before I get tortured. Y'all want any?"

Vi rolls her eyes but nods her head along with the others. My room is quickly becoming overwhelmed with the scent of hairspray and I'm more than happy to escape it.
