Chapter 7

While continuing to go over all the information about the attack at headquarters, Steve and Sam made their way to Romania from London.

The death of the recently deceased Peggy Carter visibly took its toll on Steve. After all, she was his great love from the 40s. Still, he had to find out as soon as possible if Bucky was really behind all the trouble.

After getting the address from Emilia, he actually came face to face with his best friend again.

Steve firmly believed the King of Wakanda and several other innocent people were not on Bucky's conscience. However, he was not sure. At least no one knew if the Winter Soldier was still acting.

Even Emilia had not yet been able to find any conclusive evidence that the man in the camera shots just before the attack was Bucky or not.

The Sokovia agreement continued to hang over them like a Damocles sword and the tensions in the team were bigger than ever before. A real ice age began between Tony and Steve, splitting the Avengers into two camps.

And the chase of Bucky through half of Romania didn't make it any better.

In the end, he was caught by the GSG-9 and brought to Germany - just like Steve and Sam, he was in a secret high-security facility.

Among them was also someone new who appeared on the scene: T'Challa, new king of Wakanda and better known as Black Panther.

Based on the accusations, he was also after Bucky, as he blamed the Winter Soldier for the death of his beloved father.

They didn't stay alone for long. After the hard training, Emilia set off for Germany to finally support the others actively. No one knew where it would all go.

Arriving at the Joint Terrorism Task Force building, she wasn't really surprised to find Tony there as well, who had also set off with Natasha after all the chaos.

"Mr. Stark, I should have guessed you wouldn't miss the spectacle."

"Well, someone's got to play chaperone after all you guys have done. At least I've got one of you two youngsters under control."

Tony alluded to Wanda, who had been placed under a kind of house arrest by him through Vision. It wasn't really fair because, after all, the explosion in Lagos was an unfortunate accident.

Unlike Wanda, Emilia wasn't one to let herself be locked up so easily. Even though they were both far from rebellious teenagers in their mid-twenties, Emilia couldn't and wouldn't keep her feet still. And neither Tony nor anyone else could have forced her to.

"Any news from Vienna yet?"

Steve's question was directed at Emilia, who remained standing on the other side of the table beside Sam in the conference room enclosed in soundproof glass.

"Unfortunately, no... Everything is against him, Cap. I wish I could say otherwise."

Tony had his arms crossed in front of his jacket and snorted out audibly smugly: "Such great news."

He turned and walked over to Natasha, T-Challa and several other agents who were in front of the control center outside the conference room, looking at the many screens in front of them.

The questioning by an evaluator began and on one of the screens was Bucky. Strapped down in some sort of glass cage with reinforced frames.

When Sharon Carter entered the room, Emilia looked around for a moment. She knew the woman only by hearsay so far, and caught her handing Sam a piece of paper.
