They were just four cross streets away.

Emilia, to the steady clatter of her boots, led the way, followed by Sam and Zemo, with Bucky bringing up the rear.

"That guy's been following us since the second last corner." Sam gestured with his head across the intersection.

"Who do you mean?" Bucky stopped beside Zemo with his hands in his jacket pocket and looked over. He hadn't caught it, as all his attention was only on the woman in front of him.

"Well that rather large gorilla over there."

"Shit..." It was Emilia who stepped out from behind Sam, instantly recognizing the man across the street.

"What is it? Do you know him?" Questioningly, Bucky looked at her.

In her face, for a split second, there was a mixture of fear and disgust. As she turned to him, something like guilt joined in.

"More or less. I didn't think he was actually out yet."

Taking a deep breath, Emilia adjusted her much-too-tight miniskirt.

"You guys go ahead. There's a little white Nissan at the next crossing. Pretty shabby and old with lots of rust. You can't miss it. I'll be right there."

"What are you doing?"

"Well, maybe it's none of your business, Barnes. But I need to get something straight."

The expression made Bucky feel uneasy as he watched her cross the dark street with swinging hips.

When the man on the other side noticed, he looked around the area conspicuously and took a few steps toward her.

They stopped at the wall of the house and seemed to be discussing something. Furtively, Emilia looked back at her companions before grabbing the man by his black jacket and dragging him into between the buildings.

The two disappeared from sight. That also didn't escape Zemo's attention, who had his own thoughts on the matter.

"Maybe an old lover... or customer. Who knows what Ms. Carson has been up to in this lawless town."

Bucky's head whirled around to face him. His pulse shot up at the thought of what Zemo was implying - especially since it was coming out of his mouth.

That someone would talk about Emilia like that literally made him furious. It was only a few moments later, as he stared again at the deserted road across the street, that he really became aware of what it could mean.

That inner restlessness grew with each passing second, making way for a feeling he'd felt around her more often than he'd thought.

The longer he thought about it, the stronger the suspicion in him became. And then Bucky realized what it was: jealousy.

Before he could even really think about it, he was moving.

"Hey! Barnes!"

He didn't hear Sam's voice and strode across the intersection, snorting with anger.

"You didn't really think I would let you get away with it like that. At least YOU fucking ruined my business, little bitch!"

"I think you've already taken care of that yourself. So spare me your pathetic whining. What do you really want, Babyface?"

Emilia faced the nearly six-foot-tall, trained man with her arms crossed, showing no signs of fear or nervousness.
