Kataleya's POV:

My chest heaved up and down with my heavy breathing, while my hands were wounded around the neck, strangling the known person.
I retrieved my hold on his neck and pushed him making him crash into the wall behind.

Taking a few steps ahead, I put the heel of my strap shoes against his thigh slightly putting pressure on it.

Without wasting another breath, I questioned in a hushed tone.

“What are you doing here?”

“May I have your attention, ladies and gentlemen?” Iris voice echoed through the speakers.

Catching the attention of the guests present in the wedding, she smiled at them.

“So, It's been years since I first met this ice of a woman and the bond that sparks between us is still strong as ever.” She spoke.

“But to this day, I can never forget the first encounter I had with her. Even remembering it makes me want to laugh out loud.” She chuckled softly.

My hand reached the chocolate muffin, resting on the table. I shoved the muffin innmy mouth and devoured it while also listening to Iris speaking.

“Since it's too embarrassing, I won't be sharing it. Hereby, I would only ask you all to raise a toast to the girl who still finds it funny if people fart loudly.” She exclaimed.

I closed my eyes as the muffin I was eating got stuck in my throat after hearing her.

I felt someone patting my back while I was choking on the muffin I was devouring not too long ago.

The breath of relief escaped my lips when the muffin finally decided to stop strangling my throat.

I sit straight and glared at the laughing figure of Iris on the stage. She mouthed a readable ‘I'm sorry’, which in no sense was genuine.

I turned to see the person who was soothing my back, but there was no one sitting next to me, except him. My husband.

I saw the guests and realized they all were waiting for the ‘Gagging-on-muffin-bride ’ to raise the said toast.

So, Instead of speaking anything, I picked up the wine glass and clinked it with the one he was holding.

The finger food placed on the table was making my finger itch to pick them. Giving in to my desire for eating the food, I sighed.

I picked a single mini-meatball with the toothpick it was attached to and stuffed it in my mouth.

A groan threatened to slip away from my mouth as the delicious taste of meatball touched my taste buds.

I was content that the appetizers were already served and with their savory aroma, my taste buds were pleased too.

I turned my attention back to the stage, while chewing on the food.

The mic was now in Austin's hand. He winked when his eyes made contact with mine. I scowled at him because his gesture was enough to know that he, too, will say something embarrassing.

“So guys! Iris would have said more to congratulate the bride. Although, my impatient self couldn't wait for her to finish.” He exclaimed.

The guests and everyone sitting at our table chuckled at his words, except me.
