A/n: Ah yes, all the fluff.
I hummed quietly along to my music, and a little part of me whispered that my earbuds being stuck wasn't such a bad thing. Earlier that day I had accidentally put in the earbuds that I had set up for a prank. And the gorilla glue wasn't going anywhere.
It would be mortifying to concede that I had made a rookie mistake. So I had been trying to not bring any attention to the fact that my headphones haven't come out all day.
I had danced with Ei twice now, as he was the only one of my two boyfriends who was more of a dancer. Kat was more about a fight than the graceful types of things. Even though I pointed out one time that it would help with finding his center of gravity. (And prevent clumsy mistakes.)
He just said that he would happily just sway. Out of the point of attention. And learn by watching Ei and me. Which is bullshit. I now know he just doesn't like to dance. Which is fine, not everyone is about the random moments of just vibing with an upbeat song on your own or with a lover.
I remember that back when I was around six or seven, I would find one song and just listen to it on repeat for over a month until I knew every single moment. Every word, every instrument. I would listen until it was no longer a favorite. Then I would find another and the process repeats.

I had my earbuds in, with noise-canceling headphones on top. My eyes were closed as I simply jumped around the kitchen, lip singing with all my might.I could only feel the serotonin that I was getting by impersonating the emotions trying to be conveyed. I felt so alive. I was all alone, but the world I created around myself was more than enough.
It gets to a fast tempo and that's when I start head-banging. Playing with my invisible guitar and shouting out the strong lyrics. I felt so free, for the entirety of the song.
So when I finally open my eyes and see both my dads staring at me with smiles and snickering at my sweaty appearance. I jumped in fright before scolding both of them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~"Dry eyes," I could distantly hear my boyfriend calling me. "Oi, ya gonna get brain damage if you keep those death traps in much longer."
"No, I'm not."
"Ya fucking are."
"No."
"Yes. Take them out. You've been wearing them all day."
"I don't want to."
"What? Ya listening to porn or something?"
"No! Just my music you pervert."
"I'm not judging. If ya do, not my problem."
"I'm not you jerk!"
"Why so defensive then?"
"I don't know. But I wasn't."
"Either way I think it's time the eardrum bombs came out." I stared at my boyfriend, who was sitting on the couch, a book in hand as he read over the coursework for the next tasks and subjects. If I was being honest, he looked sexy as hell. But that's not what I am focusing on right now. Ei had his head in Kat's lap and seemed to be taking a nap, even though Kat was resting his book on his nose.
I gave a playful glare, before turning back to my homework. How do I fix this? I don't want to admit that I was stupid, but also don't want to face further consequences.
"Kat don't laugh."
"Why shouldn't I?"
"'Cause I'm embarrassed."
