and kissed my forehead before i sleep.
when you let me play in the park
and wouldn't let me out past dark

when you would laugh with your friends
and share a beer as i watched until the summers end.

when the wind would lightly blow through the trees
but only after dark.

the song about the 5 little ducks that always made me laugh.
and all the nights you helped me with my math
sometimes i miss the days when all of your worries are what do to for the day
when funny jokes were all you had to say
and not about the bills you had to pay.

when you and mom would still hug
when we would ride in your red truck
when the only thing i was scared of was a bug.
