Life by the Numbers

When I was attending college I worked summers testing aircraft engines. Two numbers are engrained in my brain, 10887 and 12174. These were the speeds, in revolutions per minute, used when testing aircraft and helicopter engines. When working as a geologist the number was 35. Thirty five single steps on level ground was equivalent to 100 feet. Now, the number is 3. That is three o'clock in the morning. Halfway through night shift. It seems the older I get the smaller the numbers become. I guess when I finally checkout of this life I will arrive at zero. Anyway, I still have two numbers left. One and two. I promise to use them wisely.
