At home, Anahita was shocked to find out her mother had tortured Dhani to extract her information. Her blood boiled at the thought, so without wasting any more time, she hastened to the servant's chamber where Dhani was shut. The door was sealed with a massive lock. Anahita looked around and picked up a rock. She bashed the bolt until it cracked, then unlocked the door.
"Dhani!" She scurried to the young girl who was collapsed on the floor. Another maid followed her; she carried a glass of water.
Anahita helped her sit and offered some water. Initially, she refused.
"How can I drink from your glass, Anahita Malkin?" She replied meekly.
"Shut up." Anahita rebuked her and made her gulp down the drink. After that, she held her friend close to her, resting her head on her shoulder.
"I am sorry, Dhani. Because of me—" "No, Choti Malkin. This is my duty. You and your family have done so much for an orphan like me. In return, if I must pay with my life, I will."
