(y/n) POV:

You and Tony met Bruce, Bucky, Steve, and Sam on the outskirts of the compound in order to take the stones back. Steve was all geared up in his Captain America suit, his shield had since been repaired and this time, he goes wielding Thor's hammer. He stops in front of you for a moment, smiling.

"Thank you for all you've done. I'm so glad Tony has you." He said, pulling you into a hug.

"Be safe in there, okay?"

He nodded at you, smiling before he spoke with Sam, Bucky, and Tony before climbing onto the platform, "Remember, you'll have to return the stones to the exact moment they were taken. Otherwise, we're still looking at a whole bunch of nasty alternate realities." Bruce said.

"Got it. I'll clip all the branches," He paused, "You know, I tried. When I had the gauntlet. I really tried to bring her back. I miss her." Bruce said to Steve who nodded.

"Me too."

Sam looked to Bruce as Steve was ready, "How long's this gonna take?"

"For him, as long as he needs. For us, five seconds," He said turning his attention to Steve, "Ready, Cap? You're good to go. Meet you right back here, okay?"

"You bet." Steve said.

"Going quantum in three, two, one."

You watched as Steve vanished from the platform, you looked over at Bruce who nodded, "And, returning in five, four, three, two... one."

You looked towards the platform, expecting Steve, but instead there was silence.

"Where is here?" Sam asked.

"I don't know. He blew past our time stamp. He should be here."

"Get him back!" You yelled, causing Tony to rest a hand on your shoulder.

"Get him the hell back." Sam hissed.

"Sam." Bucky said, causing everybody's attention to go to the bench along the water.

You watched both Bucky and Sam walk over to the old man who was sitting on the bench, your eyes filled with tears as you looked up at Tony, who gave you a weak smile. You walked towards the old man just as Bucky and Sam were finishing up.

"Now, I know my Steve wouldn't pull a stunt like that without telling me first." You said, causing the older version of Steve to turn and look at you, a large smile spread on his face.

"I was running out of surprises for you."

Hugging the man, you smiled at him, "Are you happy?"

"Happier than ever."

You nodded, drying a stray tear from your cheek, "Good, then I can't be too mad at you."

You sat and talked with Steve for a while before he announced he should go.

"Will you still keep in touch?" You cried.

"As much as I can." He said back.

You gave him one last hug before you retreated back to Tony who pulled you into a hug. The family you cherished so much for almost seven years at this point was beginning to look a lot different, and while you were happy for the life you were able to still have, you still felt sad.

Once you and Tony decided it was time to go home, everybody said their goodbyes. Hugging each other with tears in their eyes, promising to keep in touch. You climbed into the passenger seat of your car, Tony resting his hand on your thigh from the driver's seat, you were silent. The drive home was silent, but comfortable. When you got home, Happy greeted you on the porch, chatting for a few minutes, you knew you'd talk to him soon, and he left.
