I N D R A F O R E S T
A small flame's shadow encompassed the room, letting no corner go unnoticed as if it wanted the wall to be a different color. My eyes are enthralled by how the flames are swallowing the blue tip of the candle and leaving it sweating. The tranquil view of the wax melting at the sight of the flame reminds me of the way a lover liquefies in the presence of their significant other. The cold wind eludes into my house like it's trying to escape the malicious world and sinks into the deep parts of my soul for protection. Whilst doing that, the flame was put out and now the eerie sight of darkness was alone with me.
My hands skim through the velvety duvet under my skin, pressing hard against it wishing I could sink into a world I always wished for. The lyrics slip gently through my ears as I allow them to skim my heart.
Music.
The only thing that makes me happy.
It pulls me by my hand into a new reality that was built up by walls and walls in my head, protecting my head from the sadness of the real world. Unhealthy? Yes. But something so comfortable, something so serene, makes it hard for me to simply enjoy a world some people call enjoyable.
I pull myself out of the deep thoughts I was having by withdrawing my hands from my earbuds, thinking my mother or brother was in the room.
But they aren't.
It was just me and music.
It always has been.
