It was a date. It. Was. A. Freaking. Date. Amelia simply freaked out on the inside when Caleb gave her a delicate butterfly necklace just as he picked her up at her house - did this mean they were on a date? It had been long since she went on one, it was all very confusing.
She wouldn't oppose if it was, but she was almost sure she wasn't dressed appropriately for the occasion and she wasn't mentally prepared for this. Not because of her ex, but because Caleb is one of her closest friends. She's not ready to lose him, in case things don't work out between them as a couple.
"What's on your mind, Lia?" the boy asked, using the nickname that was, pretty much, owned by him. From her current list of friends, he was the only person who would use it and it was kind of cute, in her opinion.
"I don't really know, there's so many things." she replied, watching the streets of Berlin through the car window. They were both sitting on the backseat of Caleb's vehicle, while his driver directed them to their location. It was all very different from all the other times they'd hang out together, since it was normally just the two of them, without all of that formality
The boy carefully held one of her hands in his, caressing it with his thumb "If you feel uncomfortable or want to leave at any point, tell me, ok? I won't be mad, I promise." he sent her a small smile, noticing she seemed nervous
Amelia wasn't hating it, but it was kind of a lot - it wasn't Caleb's fault, though. She was just so used to being treated poorly, and still loving the boy either way, that seeing someone actually treating her as she should left her feeling overwhelmed. Yet, she couldn't tell him anything so soon, as she was willing to try her hardest to enjoy the night, even if it's just as friends.
