Keres and Technoblade were now in the meeting room alone.

"Sit down, Keres, please." he urged. She was still standing by her seat, hands on the deck with her stern gaze fixed on him.

Keres remained motionless, and in the next moment, Techno stood from his chair to trudge slowly towards her.

She was curious on what he'd do, but then, he took a hold of her shoulders and gently pushed her down to sit.

"I just don't want to put you at risk, alright?"

Keres sighed, straightening her posture. "I died on the Manberg-Pogtopia war because of the explosions. I had no control over that."

"That's not what I meant." Techno leaned on the table in front of her and sighed. "I'm not saying that I don't trust you not to die in another intense situation. I'm just saying that... if you do, you're not gonna revive from it anymore. I don't want to take the chances."

Her mouth parted at what he just said. "What are you talking about?"

"My deal with Dream. When I begged him to turn you into a human, there was a consequence. And I accepted it. He said that the next time you die again, you're staying in the afterlife forever."

"You are an idiot." she pinched the bridge of her straight nose. "Did he really say that?"

He nodded. "I'm sorry for not telling you beforehand."

"I should've just stayed as a ghost then! So I can be immortal like you. Isn't that what you wanted?"

Techno gaped at her. "What I wanted is nothing compared to what I needed."

"What do you need, Technoblade?"

"You." he said, causing her angry expression to fade as he took her hand. "Like this. Living. You're not the only one with needs, Keres. I want to be with you, too, as much as you want to be with me. I want you alive."

The woman looked away from him to hide her blushing face.

"Do you see why I want you to be safe so bad now?" he softened his voice. "Do you still want to join The Syndicate knowing it's dangerous for you? Knowing that... you're putting your life on the line?"

Vaguely, Keres met his eyes again. "If it means I'm not leaving your side, then yes."

Techno cracked a faint smile, intertwining his hand with hers. "We're both the idiots here, you know."

"I guess." she chuckled.

"Where are you going?" he arched a brow when she started walking away from the table; walking away from him.

"Meeting's adjourned, isn't it?" she shrugged with a smirk, though when she glanced back at him, he let go from the table to get to her.

"You're not getting away that easily." The next thing she knew it, he leaped forward and placed one hand behind her back, and the other holding her hand.

Together, they danced amorously to the beat of their own heartbeats as Keres grinned when he twirled her around.

"So what did you say to Bad about the invitation?" he pulled her back to his chest, looking down at her mouth.

"I told him I'll think about it." she hung her arms around his neck. "I hate politics but I love parties. Do you think I should go?"

"That's your choice to make." he smiled. Before they could close their eyes to brush their lips against each other, the door opened.

"Hi, I think I forgot my- whoops." Ranboo froze as the two jumped apart. "Sorry, I'll get going."

"N-no, wait." Techno fixed his collar. "Actually, tell the others to come back."

Nihachu and Philza broke open the door as soon as he said that as if they've been standing there the entire time as they guiltily laughed it off.

"What is it?"

"Everyone," Techno resumed to announce, gesturing to the woman. "Our new Syndicate member."

...

"Woohoo!" the pink haired girl clapped cheerfully. "You're part of The Syndicate now!"

After a relevant discussion about the Eggpire and The Red Banquet together with all the members, they ended their first meeting properly this time and returned to the surface.

"Thank you, Niki." Keres smiled at her wholeheartedly. "If it wasn't for you, Techno would've never considered to let me join."

"Oh, don't say that." she consoled her generously. "Anyway, what's your code name? I bet it's super cool!"

"We agreed on Laodamia." she giggled at the fact that her code name is the wife of Techno's code name. Nihachu nodded in fascination as she continued to explain further about the meaning.

Bidding goodbyes at night, the girls had to separate whilst Techno and Phil chattered in a whispering tone. Needless to say, Keres and Niki had gotten pretty close.

"Uh, hey," Ranboo tried to talk to her, fidgeting with his hands.

"Hello," the woman looked up at his tall height, considering he was a half enderman. "Lethe, right?"

"Y-yes, that's me. Lethe. Ranboo." he strived to contain his trembling. "I just want to say uh... I want to say... sorry."

Keres stared at him in confusion. "Sorry for what?"

"In the uh... during Technoblade's execution, I uh... when you... I'm sorry, it's just that..."

"Hey, its fine." she reassured, thinking this was about his Butcher Army era. "About the execution, that's all in the past now. You don't have to say sorry anymore since Techno has already forgiven you, okay?"

"But... it's not Techno that I'm..." Ranboo eventually shook his head. "Never mind... sorry. I'm so sorry for wasting your time. Bye."

"Don't worry about it." she spoke unsurely as she was left bewildered. Brushing off the odd interaction, she turned around to find where the pig was now.

Techno and Philza were talking to another guy. The guy was wearing a familiar beanie and had a scar from his mouth to his eye.

"Quackity?" she accelerated her walk towards them.

"Oh, hey, Keres!" the guy waved at her brightly, but when he perceived her enraged guise, his happy grin dropped. "OH, SHIT! KERES!"

"WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU HERE?!" she chased him once he started running away.

"Keres, wait!" Techno started to sprint after her in case she would do something to Quackity. Phil was laughing the whole time at them running around.

"TECHNOBLADE AND I ARE FRIENDS NOW, DUDE!"

"WHAT?!" she stopped in her tracks and faced the pig. "Is this true?!"

"It's true. We reconciled after a while." Techno explained.

"Yeah, dude." Quackity panted from all the running. "We're allies now."

After a bit of reassuring, Techno managed to convince Keres that Quackity and him were now companions, and that they were working on a project to stop the Eggpire.

Keres was still hesitant to treat the guy as an ally after what he did to her, but if Techno trusts him, then she will, too.
