Willow Trees

The Mercy of the Wind by Million Eyes and Curl up & Die by Matt Maltese inspired this one, whoops.

She can't fall in place
Among these weird sensations
She floats
No destination

Seasoning peppers
In a pan
Dancing along
In a rhythmic pass

Whispers behind deaf ears
A loud scream calling for help
Constantly leaves her throat

Silently gasping
Lost in a sea
Of opportunities

Mothers waiting patiently
Underneath a willow tree
Waiting for the day
Her daughter finds her way

She says she's found it
Lying to herself
Cooking in the kitchen
With a doubt

She plays with willow trees
Moving between its leaves
Hanging on vines
Never staying long

Straying further
Along the stream
Of open doors
Reaching for a light
That she doesn't know

A figment of an idea
Leaves her desperate
Rapidly losing
Her will to continue on

Letting go of the willow tree
She falls behind
Sleeping on the day
Her mother calls her name

Mothers waiting patiently
Underneath a willow tree
Waiting for the day
Her daughter turns to her

My mother is the greatest, I love her dearly. She's always ready to help my siblings and I, she's the best.
