"How are you feeling bebé?" Gaby softly rubbed Jamie's shoulder with a slight smile on her face.

Jamie coughed lightly. "I'm okay... I want some water."

Gaby quickly grabbed the premade cup of cool water next to the hospital bed and passed it to Jamie with a gentle smile. It's been less than twenty-four hours and Jamie had already woken up. She didn't expect to see her sister sitting beside her and she hardly remembered what happened the day before.

The only person she wanted to see was Chris.

She'd been asking where he was for the past ten minutes but Gaby didn't have any other answer but "he's at home, resting". She reassured her that he would be coming back to see her even though she wasn't sure herself. All of the message she sent him since this morning went unanswered.

As Jamie sipped from the cup, she planted her free hand on the sheets to try and sit herself up some more. Gabriela, of course, was there to help her as best as she could..

"Careful mamí. Your head is—"

"It fucking hurts," Jamie groaned finally feeling the results of her irrational behavior. "What happened?"

"I honestly have no idea hermana," Gabriela sighed softly. "Chris called and ask me if I could come stay with you for a few days because he was scared to leave you by yourself. When I got there and I opened the door, I heard you guys screaming" Jamie frowned. "I thought you two were fighting until I heard you fall. You hit your head pretty fucking hard hermana and you were—" Gabriela blinked back her tears. "You were bleeding a lot and I seriously thought I lost you."

"H—How? I don't understand."

"I think you might have had another episode," Gabriela replied sadly. "Chris told me you kept screaming like someone was stabbing your ear, and he said you kept saying 'get out of my head'."

Her face fell. "I don't remember that," Jamie mumbled.

"I know you only act like that if you haven't taken your medicine," Gabriela glanced at her sister. "Have you been taking it?"

"Of course I have," she sighed, just as the door slowly swung open revealing their family doctor.

"How are you feeling, Jamie?"

"I feel fine... my throat is a little sore and I'm hungry."

The doctor couldn't help but smile. "Nurse Hannah should be here shortly with your food." Jamie smiled a little. "I reckon your sister has told you what happened, yes?"

She nodded. "Yes.. a little."

"How've you been feeling prior to what happened? Any unusual behaviors?"

Jamie knew what she was referring to. If she responded and gave them the answer they wanted, she was sure they'd be trying to haul her into the nearest psych ward and that was not what she wanted. Mentally she was fine, she just let her nervous emotions get to her a little too much and it caused her to react too strongly. She was just shocked at how fast she managed to fall for a man she shouldn't be falling for.

Gabriela sat beside her silently holding her hand in support. It made her feel just a bit better despite everything else.

She shook her head. "I've been okay up until now."

"Have you been taking your medicine?"

Fighting the urge to roll her eyes, Jamie nodded. "Yes, I have. Faithfully."

The doctor glanced at Gabriela unsure of what else to say. "Well.. maybe we should switch—"

"No," Jamie immediately shook her head, ignoring the pain. "I don't want to keep switching. They work for me, I just—" she sighed tiredly. "I was just upset about something and I reacted badly. That's it. It has nothing to do with my health or the medicine."

"Are you sure hermana?" Gabriela asked in concern. "You said this the last time and it turned out to be something extreme. I don't wanna ignore any possible signs this time."

Jamie couldn't help but smile softly. "I'm sure, Gaby."

"Well okay then."

The doctor then spent a few more minutes letting Jamie know whatever she needed to know and that if she wanted, she could be discharged soon.

As the doctor closed the door Jamie pulled Gaby towards her for a hug. She couldn't help but giggle.

"Te amo mucho hermana. Gracias por estar aquí," Jamie sighed happily.

"Te amo más mi bebé." Gaby mumbled. When they pulled away, she smoothed her thumbs down her cheeks. "Necesitas empezar a ser más cuidadoso."

Jamie whined. "Ahh lo sé. No volverá a suceder."

"It better not."

A subtle knock could be heard on the door before it opened once again. Jamie thought it would be the doctor coming back with her discharge papers but she felt herself relax when she saw Chris.

"I'm sorry I'm late baby." He trotted towards the bed to give her a hug.

"Yeah because I texted you two hours ago." Gaby playfully rolled her eyes. He hugged her next and grabbed a spare chair to pull up next to them.

"I had to take Ro to soccer practice today."

"Mhmm," she squinted her eyes before deciding to stand up. "I'm gonna go grab your food and your papers so we can go. Try not to have sex in here."

"Shut up hermana." Jamie shook her head making Gaby laugh.

As the door closed Chris took her hand lifting it up to his lips to kiss it. Jamie smiled softly.

"How you feelin?" He asked in between kisses.

"Tired." She kept her eyes on him. "I didn't think you would come back. Gaby told me she sent you home to rest."

Chris nodded. "She did. I wish I stayed."

"You should have." She squeezed his fingers. "I don't remember much, but I'm sorry you had to see me acting an ass."

"It's okay baby" he kissed her hand again. "I'm sorry I didn't stay."

For some reason, Jamie felt like that had a double meaning to it. As much as she wanted to pester him about it she decided not to due to how tired she was. Maybe another day.

"I'll forgive you if you forgive me," she yawned, her eyes fluttering gently.

"You know I forgive you." He chuckled. "Go ahead and go to sleep, baby. I'll be here when you wake up."

"You better be," she mumbled, feeling herself fall asleep.

He smiled and kept a firm hold on her hand. The last thing he heard was, "Te amo tanto, amor," before her soft snores filled the air.
