The Anti-Void was quiet. The voices were silent, and the world's only inhabitant sat at a table that had been decorated for the occasion that fell on this day. At least, it was close to that time. Six places had been set, and six chairs had been placed at the table. A confetti-themed tablecloth served to hide the antique exterior of the table. He didn't want to look at it. The intricate carvings had worn down with the passage of time, and they didn't look as clean as they once had. He remembered the day he had been gifted it.

"Error, we've taken it upon ourselves to get you some new furniture!" A voice echoed in his mind, from a memory of too long ago.

"You don't have to do that; I'm fine with just my beanbag." His own voice, from when he had still used it.

"Error, we spent forever on it! Look at what Dusty did in the middle!"

"He did that?"

"Yeah! I did the other parts here, and Horror did the outline here, and Crossy did the legs!"

"Wow..you..you did all that..for me?"

"Well, of course! We'd do anything for our favorite glitchy pal!"

A short-lived smile found its way onto his face, before disappearing to reform his frown.

"You should cheer up more often." Another voice from the past. "It isn't healthy to frown all the time; take it from the person who makes people frown for a living."

He couldn't find it in him to smile. He didn't, before he met them. He remembered that he didn't eat, either.

"Hold on, ya never ate?" One of them had been sorrowful upon hearing that. "You. Me. Kitchen. Now."

He didn't think he could eat his cake, but it wouldn't have been a party without it.

"You've never had a birthday party?" Another had been astounded. "Error, I'm going to show you the beautiful way to get more chocolate for at least one day out of the year. First, we're going to need cake, balloons, and an approximation of how old you are, and then I'll tell you how to subliminally get people to give you what you want as presents!"

He had never met anyone else quite like them.

"It's frightening sometimes, isn't it?" The last had thought differently. "That you could just be replaced? I guess you don't have that problem; you don't have hundreds of people who share your universe's name. I don't think Nightmare would replace us, though; we're family. You are, too, Error. You're our family."

Part of him wished he hadn't been.

They had always overlooked his immortality.
