Nova slightly adjusted her hair, looking at her appearance in her full body mirror, giving herself a small smirk before she grabbed her backpack, walking down the stairs of the house, spinning her key ring on her finger as she did.

"Have a good first day, sweetheart!" Irina called out as Nova walked out the front door

"Thanks, Gran!" Nova replied "see you tonight!"

She stopped for a moment, marveling at the beauty in front of her, a shiny black 1967 Chevy Impala sat in the driveway next to a dark blue Chevy traverse, a happy smile forming on her lips, glad her hard work throughout the summer had paid off beautifully.

Derek also helped out too, when he wasn't giving Jackson his werewolf 101 before before the teen left to London. Nova walked over to the driver's seat, wiping a spot on the hood with the sleeve of her coat before getting in the car, setting her backpack in the passenger seat as she turned on the engine. Her hands moved to the steering wheel, her eyes closing at he sound of the purr coming from the engine, a content sigh emitting from her nose, pulling out of the driveway of the house and making her way to school, not being able to wait to see the looks she knew she would get from the freshmen or the others for that matter. A small smirk was on her red lips when she gained the eyes of the people she passed on the street, all of them looking at the beauty of the car, not knowing that she was the one who put it all together, and painted it. No one would be able to tell that the car had once been a complete rust bucket.

As she pulled into the school, some kids moved out of the way at the rumble of the engine, all of them looking at the car as it parked next to a familiar blue jeep. Nova killed the engine, grabbing her backpack and exiting her car, a smirk never leaving her lips when she closed the door, activating the alarm as she walked inside the school,

"The car came out great" Scott complimented as he walked next to her

"Thank you very much" Nova smiled "I'm pretty proud of my summer work"

"Do you think Derek will help me out with the whole tattoo thing?" looking at her

"And there it is" a light chuckle emitting from her

"You wanna ask Derek for help?" Stiles asked as he walked up next to them "why? Why?"

"He's got the triskele tattooed on his back" Scott replied "so, there has to be a way to do it without healing, right?"

"Okay, yeah, but still, doesn't he have his hands a little full?" gesturing to two missing persons reports on the bulletin board, one showing Boyd, the other showing Erica

"Look, these are the applications for the career advisor" a man spoke up "I need them sorted. And whatever happened to the library while I was gone, I want it cleared up" the three poking their heads in slightly "and what the hell is this?" holding up a sword

"I'll see you guys in class" Nova muttered, quickly walking to her locker

She chuckled lightly, putting in the combination to her the lock on her locker, removing it and opening the small storage compartment, grabbing the book she needed for her first class,

"Freshmen" Lydia commented "tons and tons of fresh men"

"You mean fresh boys" Allison replied

"Some of them don't even look like they've hit puberty yet" Nova added, holding her other book with her English textbook

"Uh, some are more mature than others" the strawberry blonde replied, shrugging slightly

"You know, it's okay to be single" Allison said as Nova closed her locker, putting the lock back on and locking it, spinning the dial as she always did "focus on yourself for a little while, work on becoming a better person"

"Allison, you're talking to Lydia" Nova said, leaning back against her locker, reminding her of the strawberry blonde

"I love you" Lydia said, looking at the hunter "so if you need to do that thing where we talk about me and pretend like we're not actually talking about you, it's totally fine" causing a smile to form on her lips "but I don't want a boyfriend, I want a distraction"

Nova looked toward the entrance of the school when a new scent filled her nose, raising her head slightly as she discretely sniffed the air. Her hands tightening around her books when another faint scent filled her nose, one that she couldn't quite place, Lydia and Allison looking in the same direction, noticing the new figures that stood out. On instinct, the redhead quickly hid her scent before they had a chance to catch it,

"Brothers?" Allison asked

"Twins" Lydia smirked

The redhead sat down in a seat behind Stiles, setting her notebook on the desk, grabbing a mechanical pencil and getting ready to work, knowing her attendance may not be all that great this year, but she would make sure her grades made up for it, knowing that she had straight A's in the last school year.

"Is someone . .?" Allison trailed off, pointing to the only seat left in front of Scott

"No, no, no, no" Scott replied "no, it's all you, all yours. Uh, it's totally vacant" causing a small smile to form on her lips as she sat down

Suddenly, everyone's phone began to chime, Nova looking around in confusion as she pulled hers out of her coat pocket, unlocking it and pulling up a text along with everyone else in the class,

"The offing was barred by a black bank of clouds and the tranquil waterway, leading to the uttermost ends of the earth flowed somber under an overcast sky, seemed to lead into the heart of an immense darkness" a female voice spoke up as she walked in the class "this is the last line to the first book we are going to read. It is also the last text you will receive in this class. Phones off, everyone"

Yeah, okay

Instead of shutting off her phone completely, Nova decided to simply turn off the vibration while putting it face-up on top of her desk.
