"I still don't get how this guy has no mouth" Sheriff Stilinski commented as he looked at the small keyboard

"Have you ever seen X-Men Origins; Wolverine?" Nova asked, earning a small nod "Wade Wilson after the Deadpool experiments"

"How can he eat?" He asked

"Peter didn't get a chance to ask" Derek replied, looking at him "he was fighting him off with a tomahawk buried in his chest"

"Laced with wolfsbane that I had to burn out" Nova added

"And who runs around with a tomahawk?" Sheriff Stilinski asked

". . I carried one for IED removal in Afghanistan" Parish informed from the doorway of the office "it's military. And so is that" pointing to the small keyboard that was attached to a mechanical hand as he walked in

"Do you know what it's used for?" Derek asked

"Well . ." taking it in his hands, looking it over "this one looks like it's been modified"

Sheriff Stilinski looked at Derek, who gave him a small nod, causing the older male to walk to the office door, closing it before turning back to Parish.

"Show us" he instructed

The sheriff knew that there was no point in having Nova wait in another room, since she was able to hear everything that was going on. While knowing that she is a phoenix, he knew that she could help with whatever was going on in Beacon Hills, and who was commiting the murders. She stood next to Derek, leaning back against a desk, with sheriff Stilinski leaning against its other side, the three of them watching as Parish tapped away on a laptop,

". . Okay, I think I got an IP address" he informed

"That means we can find him, right?" Sheriff Stilinski asked, looking closer at the screen

"Definitely" nodding slightly "especially if . . "

The mechanical hand twitched, something that didn't go unnoticed to Nova,

"Why did that move?" She asked

"I think I found a message" Parish replied, looking at the screen "does anyone recognize the handle Benefactor?"

"Money transferred" Derek read "what does that mean?"

"Oh, hell" Nova said, causing Sheriff Stilinski to look at her "that means he's not just a killer. He's an assassin" looking at the laptop ". . please tell me that's not an IP address to the school"

A flashlight was aimed towards the doors of Beacon Hills High, sheriff Stilinski and Derek opening the doors as the three of them walked inside. The officer had his gun drawn as well, aimed toward the floor with Nova walking in between them, for his own assurance as well. She may be a phoenix, but she was still technically a kid, and he wasn't about to let anything happen to her, especially since he saw her as a daughter he never had.

"You know, just because this guy connected to the schools wifi, doesn't mean he's still here" Derek spoke up as they slowly walked through the hall

"True" the sheriff replied "but I've seen enough in this school to have my gun in my hand when walking in after dark"

Nova grasped his sleeve, causing him to stop in his tracks, turning his head and looking toward her. She knew that metallic scent, the kind that was burned into her memory, her eyes landing on a dark puddle that came out from beneath a door. Her hand released his sleeve, landing on the flashlight and gun, aiming it toward the ground further,

". . Like blood" he added

"That doesn't make sense" Derek said

"Yeah, I know what you mean" aiming his gun ahead of them as he turned around

"It's not that, sheriff" Nova said "Derek should've caught the scent before we walked in the school. I should've caught it from down the street. Especially if it's like that" pointing to it

As mentioned before, a phoenixes senses are more heightened than werewolves, any crazy loud noise would piss them off and would force them to shut off the noise at any cost. The sheriff looked at the two of them for a moment, Derek turning toward the door, hesitantly reaching for the handle.

"Hold on" Sheriff Stilinski said, placing his hand over Derek's before the handle could be turned "you two nervous makes me nervous"

Derek moved to the side, allowing him to shine his light through the window of the classroom, not seeing anything out of the ordinary. He reached for the handle next, slowly turning it downward and pulling the door open, lightly wincing when he saw a wire attached to the other side of the door. Nova kneeled down as the light landed on an object on the floor, looking at it for a moment,

"That's an explosive" she informed

"A claymore" Derek added

Her head tilted slightly, not enough to where Derek would be able to see as she listened to something different in the air. With her speed and strength, she stood straight and shoved the men to the side, bringing her hands together in a prayer position right in front of her face, catching the tomahawk thrown their way. The blade was centimeters away from her nose, Derek instantly pushing himself to his feet, Nova dropping the weapon as a man jumped over the railing of the stairs, landing in a slightly crouched position, as of he was getting ready to attack. He looked mostly human, but only had smooth skin from the bottom of his nose to his chin, no mouth at all. There was no hair on his head, no eyebrows or eyelashes, wearing all black as he glared at them, carrying another tomahawk in his hand.

What surprised her the most was that the man -- who she will call the Mute -- didn't charge toward her, but instead toward her mate, swinging his tomahawk toward the alpha, who narrowly dodged each time. Before the weapon could hit Derek, Nova's arm blocked it, her foot handing in his chest, which caused the Mute to be thrown back against the lockers. He pushed himself off, rushing toward her,

"Care to do the honors?"

"With pleasure, hatchling"

Nova's eyes turned deep red, expertly dodging and blocking his blows, fighting him off. But there was something else to her movements that Derek didn't recognize, but it could be because he had been gone for a while, and she was could have also been training with her new abilities. She was faster, her hits were harder, hearing a bone snap on the Mute's wrist, which caused him to drop the tomahawk. Another kick send him back, Derek catching him and forcing his arms behind him just as sheriff Stilinski pushed himself up from the floor, the Mute pausing when he saw a gun aimed at his head.

"You have the right to remain silent" he said

A low snort emitted from Nova, covering it with a cough as her eyes faded back to their original color,

"Anything you say, can and will be used against you in the court of law" he continued, walking toward Derek as he got the handcuffs ready "you have the right to an attorney, if you cannot afford one --"

"No" Nova spoke up, whipping around "Peter, no!"

Releasing the Mute, Derek quickly pulled Nova out of the way, only to have the three of them thrown back by Peter, landing on the ground as grunts emitted from him. She looked toward the beta, drops of blood covering his face as he ripped a piece of skin from the now dead Mute, his eyes ice blue with his claws extended. He looked toward them, dropping the skin as he stood straight, sheriff Stilinski raising his gun toward the werewolf as he pushed himself to his feet once more. Derek helped Nova up as Peter took out a white handkerchief from his pocket, cleaning the blood from his hands as he looked toward the sheriff, shaking his head slightly in a silent warning before turning around and walking down the hall.

"We've learned a better way" Derek said

"I'm a creature of habit" Peter replied bluntly, walking away from them
