Nova's eyebrows furrowed slightly as she continued to read the book, even as Stiles spoke to Lydia, basically giving her a summary of what happened the night before at her house. The redhead had to admit, she was exhausted with the events of everything,

"I don't believe it" the strawberry blonde said, looking at the spastic teen "Scott can't really be with them. He can't be"

"You didn't see the look on his face, though" Stiles replied "it was . . ." shaking his head slightly

"Then what can I do?" confusion in her voice "I mean, I get that I'm some kind of, like, human geiger counter for death, but . . I don't know how to turn it on and off yet. All I know is that she tried to kill me because of . ."

"Because of what?" looking at her "hey, Lydia, what?"

"When she called me a banshee, she was surprised by it" her eyes widened slightly "what if that's not why she tried to kill me?"

"Then why did she?" Nova asked, glancing at her as she turned the page

"That's what we need to find out" looking at her

"Oh, my god" she muttered, standing up from the sofa

"What?" Stiles asked "oh, my god, what? Nova?"

". . I can save Cora" looking at him, a smile forming on her lips "I can save Cora!"

With two bags in her hands, Nova opened the door to the loft, closing it and running toward Peter, Cora and Derek, the alpha holding on to his sister's hand, his veins on his arms being black as he took her pain.

"Shouldn't you be in school?" Peter asked

"Shouldn't you be in a retirement center?" Nova countered, dropping her backpack on the desk, along with the bags "Derek, stop what you're doing. Peter, grab a bucket, or anything deep enough to hold a lot of liquid"

The werewolves watched as she emptied the contents on the bags, throwing them to the floor as she grabbed an IV bag she may have swiped from Beacon Hills Memorial, grabbing a wire hanger and hooking it in the hole at the top of the bag. Derek removed his hand from Cora's as Nova put the hanger on a hook over the bed, connecting a small tube to the bottom of the bag and kneeling down next to Cora,

"What are you doing?" Derek asked, looking at his mate

"Helping your sister" she replied, carefully sticking a needle into the vein in her arm, taping it down "do you remember, at the police station when we were paralyzed by the kanima?" walking to the desk "the tears absorbed into the skin and practically dissolved that paralytic toxin" grabbing her backpack "the tears of a phoenix are capable of healing wounds rapidly and eliminating poisons and disease, but only if the host knows what those poisons and disease are" looking at him

"Mistletoe" Peter said, holding on to a deep bucket

"So . ." pulling out a syringe from her backpack "if I were to inject the tears directly into her veins . ." pulling out her flask "it'll push the toxin out of her system"

Nova removed the small lid to her flask, putting the container on the desk and grabbing the syringe. She stuck the needle inside, pulling the drum back, causing the tears to be sucked into the syringe until it was full. It didn't matter how much of the tears were used, but in order to push a toxin out of ones system, she would need a full syringe. She held it up, slightly pushing out the drum to make sure there were no air bubbles, causing a small stream to shoot out of the needle. Nova walked over to Cora, piercing the IV tube with the needle,

"Get that bucket ready" she instructed "as soon as I do this, it'll come out quick"

Peter ran over to Cora as soon as Nova pushed the drum down until the syringe was empty, the phoenix's eyes turning red, watching as her tears traveled down the tube and into her veins. Not even second later, Cora's she's snapped open, shooting up into a sitting position as a black liquid emitted from her mouth, Peter catching it in time with the bucket. Nova's eyes returned to their original color, remiving the needle and taking a small step back as the toxin was pushed out of Cora's body, Derek standing from his position, looking at Nova,

"How'd you know that would work?" He asked

"The book" she answered, looking at him "I told you I'd find something" a smile forming on her lips "she's going to be okay. But she'll need rest after . . All that" pointing to the bucket

To say Derek was grateful for Nova was an understatement, she saved his sister and unknowingly saved him as well. Without her, he wasn't sure what kind of alpha he would be. Nova looked back at Cora when she let out a cough, more of the black liquid emitting from her mouth, splashing into the bucket, Peter moving some of her hair away from her face. The bucket was filled a little more than half way when Cora was finished, collapsing back on the bed with a groan, Peter wiping her mouth with a small towel, cringing slightly at the contents inside. Cora's eyes were closed once more, her skin slowly beginning to regain it's color, now sleeping peacefully as Peter stood, walking over to Nova as she took her lighter from her pocket. The small flame emitted from the small object, the redhead reaching out, grasping the flame and throwing it in the bucket, causing the contents to ignite, Peter setting it on the floor as the black liquid began to dissolve due to the fire of a phoenix.

"Aren't you glad to have a phoenix for a mate?" Peter asked, sarcasm in his voice

He flinched away when the fire rose, a smirk forming on Nova's lips, not reacting when he glared at the teen. Nova's phone chimed, causing her to pull it from her pocket, looking at the screen,

"Meet at the clinic. ASAP" she read
