"So Dec was the one to help you when you got sick?" Lauren sniffed, shuffling her fingers over the duvet cover that she sat on, her best friend sat the other end with her son still fast asleep in her arms.
"He was, and he was so good, Loz. That night was awful, I was sick so many times and nearly ended up in hospital dehydrated. I thought it was just a bug, but Dec stayed with me every second," she recalled with a small smile, her eyes catching Lauren's teary ones, before falling on her beautiful son, a mini mason, laying sound asleep innocently, his hand holding his mothers finger.

Maeve awoke the following morning still resting in her brothers bed, her body feeling empty and her head pounding.
"Morning mouse, sleep alright in the end?" Dec yawned from his gaming chair, swivelling round as he heard her shuffling in bed.
"I slept for the past hour, other than that I just had to keep running to the toilet. This bug sucks," she pouted with a sigh. Dec pursed his lips in a sympathetic smile, jumping up from his gaming chair and shuffling across the duvet to hug his sister.
"You'll be okay, these bugs are normally only 24 hours. Plus, Mase is back today!" Dec smiled excitedly, blatantly for his brother from another mother's return to England. Maeve couldn't help but smile, she wanted nothing more than her husbands embrace.

A few hours had passed as Maeve lay across her mums sofa, Dec's hoodie keeping her warm as she kept the hood over her eyes, his joggers baggy on her but comfortable.
"Mouse! Mouse! Mouse!" Jade excitedly sprinted into the room, jumping a little too forcefully onto Maeve, causing her to flinch.
"What is it, baby?" She winced in pain, but covered this as she laughed to the excited child.
"Uncle Masey's here!" She giggled, clapping her hands excitedly. Maeve's heart warmed as she spoke this, a glow embracing her face. Jade jumped up, running towards the front door. Maeve sat up on the sofa, pulling the hood down with her somewhat sweaty palms. Dec also sprinted down the stairs, skidding to a halt as the front door clicked open.
"HERE HE IS," Masons voice giggled, embracing his best friend into a tight cuddle in the hallway.
"Bro I fucking missed you," Dec hugged him close.
"And look how much Jadey bear has grown!" He released from the hug, crouching down against the marble floor, throwing his arms around the small girl as she climbed into his lap, her arms wrapped tightly around his neck. Maeve hoisted herself up off the sofa, stumbling into the doorway with a smile on her face as he told the little one all about his travels, and gave her the bag of sweets he had brought for her, mimicking her excited expressions.
'He'll be such a good dad, one day'
Maeve thought to herself with a smirk on her face. He looked up from the child to gaze upon his wife, a glimmer shining in his eye more than she'd ever seen before. She looked a mess, her skin bare and pale, her hair messy from where it had been resting in her step brothers hood as she was swamped by his oversized tracksuit. But to Mason, she looked as beautiful as ever. Every moment he lay his eyes on her, he fell inlove slightly more.
"Here she is, my beautiful baby," he smiled widely, his eyes creasing and his dimples more prominent than ever.
"I missed you so much," Maeve smiled, running into his arms as he picked her up, spinning her round as he rested his head in her neck, his hands tightly around her waist.
"No where near as much as I missed you, beautiful," He smirked, looking up to where he held her, using his fingers to push a strand off her hair behind her ears, and leaning in towards her lips. But before he had closed the gap between them, Maeve lifted her finger, placing it over his mouth.
"Don't kiss me, I'm sick remember. I don't want you to catch it, my love," She whispered to him. His eyes remained locked on hers, as he shook his head.
"I don't care, baby. I've been a week without you, I'm deprived of your touch, I'd put that over being ill anyway," he told her, gently placing his soft lips on top of hers, feeling her smile into his.
"That was disgusting," Dec sighed, observing the whole situation. Mason took no notice of this, laughing to himself as he passionately kissed his wife.

"And what about when you told Mason? Was he upset? I'm just so worried I'm ruining Dec's career," Lauren sighed, taking in what Maeve was telling her and realising actually the boys seemed super supportive.
"He couldn't have been further the opposite way...."

A week had passed since Mason returned from the Club World Cup trip, and Maeve was still struggling with her health. She was weaker by day, sicker by night and any smell or taste would make her gag.
"Do you think we should get to the doctors, honey? I don't think this is a bug anymore, it's been too long. Plus, I would have caught it by now. Or Dec would have, he was the one holding your hair back the entire first night remember," Mason stroked her head as she cuddled up to him on the sofa, her head against his chest and her legs over his lap as they observed the scene on the TV.
Maeve knew she needed to tell him, but she was worried. She could single handedly end his career with her thoughts, and then he'd despise her for sure.
"Mase," she sighed, pulling herself up slightly so her eyes were now level with his, an air of concern glowing from his chocolate iris.
"Yes, baby?" He dipped his eyebrows slightly, obviously concerned.
"I'm- im late," she anxiously told him.
"Late for what? Where are you going you're too ill?!" He panicked, causing her to shake her head.
"No, mase. Im late. You know, for my period. I've never been late before, and I'm being sick and dizzy. I think we should do a test," She told him, the words screaming reality in her head. He gazed into her eyes for moments, before nodding as he comprehended the situation.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry Maeve. It's all my fault you're ill," he pulled her into a tight cuddle, resting firm kisses all over my head.
"Mase don't be silly! I might not even be pregnant, and if I am then it's not your fault - it takes two to make a baby," she assured him, as he nodded against her head.

"What does it say?" Mason paced outside the bathroom door, scratching his head as Maeve sat on the ledge of the bath, the test in her hand. She sighed, unlocking the door as facing him, tension mounting the air.
"It's, its positive. I'm pregnant, Mason."
He looked at the test, then at her eyes, then back to the test, and then cupped his face.
"I'm so sorry, Maeve. Im truly so sorry," he shook his head, earning a look of confusion from his wife.
"Why are You sorry? Im sorry I've ruined your career," she sighed.
"Ruined my career? Mouse I want a family with you, I want that more than anything ever. Just me, you and a mini us. But if you're not ready then I support that no matter what," he pressed a kiss against her forehead.
"You, you want a family? With me?" She smiled, placing the test down on the side and cupping his face with her hands.
"Of course I do, I have since the day I met you. Since the day I made you my wife, I knew you'd be the mother of my children one day, and I personally can't wait for the day. But if you want to wait, I understand," he wrapped his hands around her waist, tickling her with his thumb.
"Mase, I want this more than anything, we're having a baby!" She gasped, the realisation that they were both on the same page making each of them somewhat emotional.
"Yeah we fucking are," he sniffed, pulling his lips passionately onto hers, running his hands down her body and onto her stomach, before he knelt down to reach it, with a kiss.
"Our own mini Mount."
