I was having way more fun than I imagined I would in the beginning. the people id met so far had been very nice and inviting I shouldn't t be surprised but I was I had not one bad encounter with anybody nobody was even worried about who was who and who I was if I was approached it'd be to make friendly small convo and that was it I played the baby games like guess the baby food, ate till I was stuffed and danced around with people I hadn't t known, also had a slight buzz going on that I, of course, hadn't t minded
"hi?"
I turned around assuming that the voice was talking to me and when I did I was met face to face with a gorgeous woman and when I looked her up from top to bottom only one thing screamed at me

her afro was everything so much so that I became a bit envious of the amount of hair from up top of her head "hi" I smiled back
"I'm sorry you look familiar I feel like I know you but I don't at the same time, are you a friend of Imogen's?"
Imogen?
ah yes my pregnant sister
"um..no I came with Krista as a plus one" I stated with an honest smile
"oh okay, Krista that's my niece shes never menti--"
"auntie!"
both the woman and I turned around to see Krista running toward us with a panicked expression on her face
"This......heaven is my father's younger sister also known as my aunt," kris said giving me a look I started to understand
my eyes grew wide as realization began to settle in
so this was my aunt?
was she aware of me?
"Krista what is the matter with you I'm pretty sure your friend would have the common scene to know that me being the sister of your dad would mean that I'm your aunt why are you being so littoral"
"Sometimes in someplace it doesn't work like that auntie plus I was just explaining how you are his younger sister"
the woman rolled her eyes clearly not wanting to be bothered by Krista
"anyways I'm sorry I thought Id recognized you from elsewhere my mistake ill just be on my way then"
"what hair products do you use for your hair" I rudely blurted out before I could even think
"I'm sorry?"
"never mind that was my bad I just said the first thing that came to my mind please forgive me it was nothing"
the woman smiled in amusement "you asked what products I use for my hair?"
"yeah I did not o—"
"I don't do much with it really for growth I just" she interrupted me but as she continued to talk I wasn't really much invested in what she had to say I guess in the back of my mind I wanted to have a relationship with this woman also she intrigued me in a way I could tell just from the way she carried her self and spoke that had I grown up with her around me my thoughts processes would have probably been slightly different or advanced everything about this woman had screamed boss lady
"And that's why I think the variety of hair growth and health products are overrated I mean all of them aim to do the same thing aren't I right?"
What huh
She looked at me in an expectant expression since I hadn't really known what she'd been going on about I did a nod and that was it
"So are you into cosmetology and all that stuff?"
Cosmetology?
"No not at all I enjoy cosmetics and all but not enough to start a career out of it"
"Well that's too bad I love the red lip thing you've got going on it gives you an assertive-looking aura if that makes sense"
I giggled at that compliment "thank you"
"Well I should get going but it was nice running into You Krista and meeting you..." she said with an outreached hand
"Heaven, I said taking her hand and shaking it with a wide smile on my face she smiled back at me softly "beautiful name, I'm Lisa," she said then walked away
"What the hell was that?"
I looked over to Krista who was looking back at me as if I'd suddenly grown two heads
"What?" I asked innocently understanding full well why she was looking at me the way she was but even I couldn't explain what had just happened call it I just got caught up in the heat of the moment or curiosity but I seriously didn't know
"3 hours ago you were scared shitless and didn't even want to step foot in here and now it's like your one of our regular party guests what gives?"
"I don't know" I shrugged "I guess it all just feels natural or something"
At that, Krista smiled "natural?"
"Shut up Krista you know what I mean and I'm not gonna get into it with you," I said feeling Embarrassed about my choice of words
Krista smiled then laughed "it's okay heaven, it's okay to want to know family stop beating yourself over it I know I didn't"
"Oh I know you didn't," I said in a sarcastic tone that had gotten Krista to blush
"Okay you seriously need to start getting passed that"
I laughed that she'd dare to even utter that sentence "I don't think I ever can"
"Kay then so tell me this haven't you ever gone after something that you wanted so badly that you said fuck everything else"
That made me think of hunter Krista was right even if she didn't know my situation I did want him badly and I did say fuck everything else when it came to him but those were two completely different things though I didn't stalk the guy I was just persistent as was she
But then again I didn't need to stalk him
But given the opportunity would I have?
Of course not!
When he was gonna get married I never interfered because of my feelings I didn't move across states just to prove he and I were meant for each other nor did I ever show my disdain for his said wife so I guess it's safe to say Krista and I are not the same
"Nope I've got self-control," I said smugly with a smirk
"Whatever," she said with an eye roll "before I came over here to save you I was gonna go around the corner for a smoke with a few friends that I'm pretty sure are already in session would like to join?"

It's been a minute
I nodded my head and we began walking in her direction but then again we were stopped by a voice calling out to Krista and by the way her eyes grew wide I could tell they were probably important
She turned around slowly with me on her arm with a nervous wide smile on her face that lowkey made me nervous also "hey mom" she greeted the older-looking woman who favored in resemblance with her
Well shit...
This scene will be to be continued as a flashback in a couple chapters but as of right now sorry I'm drained and not feeling really well on my menstrual 😓
