A week later,
*Knock knock*
"Come in." Ellie Mae said
"Got a minute?" Katie said
"Yeah, did you need my help?" She said
Katie sat down on her bed, "Tell me about the boy." Katie said
"What boy?" She said
"The boy in NY, Steve's best friend." Katie said
Ellie looked down, "I dont want to talk about it." She said as she went back to her homework.
"Peggy told me everything. How you two fell in love,and how you refused to stay for him." Katie said
"Mom I said.." she said
"Eleanor Maybelle.." Katie said
"Yes! I fell in love, and yes I said no when he asked me to stay. We broke up I lost our baby! But London is my home, and you need me here." Ellie said
Katie rolled her eyes, "Bloody hell Eleanor..I am a grown woman and I did just fine in the year that you were gone." Katie said
"Mum I made my decison. Now do you need me to help with anything?" She said as she closed her book and laptop.
Katie just walked out, and mumbled "Just like your pa."
The next morning, Ellie Mae called Peggy, before one of her classes.
"Peggy why did you tell my mum about James? I didn't want her to know." Ellie said
"She asked me why you were depressed. I wasn't going to lie.." Peggy said
"Pegs you don't understand, mum has a brain anuerysm I made a promise to pa when he was dying that I would look after her! Telling her about how I fell in love and everything I didnt want her to know cause she would push me to go back to NY." Ellie Mae said
"Elle I didn't know she was sick.." Peggy said
"Yeah, now she is mad at me because of what you told her. I have to get to class." She said and hung up.
Two days later, Steve and Peggy made their way to Boston to James' house.
"He's in his room." James said
They went upstairs to his room.
"Pegs? Steve? Why are you two here?" He said
"Peggy has some things to say and you will listen until she is done.." Steve said
"Okay.." Bucky said
"Ellie Mae didn't cheat or have a boyfriend back home. She made a promise to her dad when he was dying that she would care for her mum. Her mum has brain aneurysm your dad is a nuerologist he can tell you what that means." Peggy said
Bucky gulped, "I know what it means Pegs." He said as tears welled
"There is something else you should know, during your disappearing act Ellie Mae's emergency was she had miscarriage. So you are a total ass for how you chose to act." Peggy said
Bucky wiped tears as he looked down. "Oh god." He whispered as he ran to his bathroom and puked.
James heard the whole thing.
