The next morning, everyone gathered for brunch. Katie noticed Bucky's demeanor was much different then day before. He was actively avoiding Ellie, so much so that he wouldn't even look in her direction.
He wasn't laughing, cutting jokes or really eating. Katie leaned over in Ellie's ear.
"What did you do now? I know you did something cause you came back to the room. And now he can't even look at you." Katie whispered
"Mum don't worry about it." She whispered
"If you'll excuse us Peggy." Katie said as she stood up and pulled Ellie Mae with her.
"Mum will you stop.." Ellie said as they got outside.
"Why Eleanor? Why can't you just live your life? This right here is why your father had heart problems! He was so wrapped up in taking care of me that he put himself on the back burner! He needed surgery and because he was so concerned about me he refused to do it. Just like you are doing now, refusing to be with that boy cause of me. I don't need a 24/7 baby sitter." Katie yelled
"Mum calm down! I made a promise!" Ellie Mae said as Bucky and James came out.
"I don't care! I want my daughter to be happy and stop worrying about me..." Katie said
"Katie..calm down." James said
Katie took a few breathes, before her eyes rolled. James caught her before she hit the ground.
"Mum!" Ellie screamed
Bucky called 911, as he comforted Ellie. James went with Katie to the hospital and got privilages to perform the surgery at the hospital. Bucky sat with Ellie at the hospital. Luckily Peggy and Strve had the venue the whole weekend so they were able to postpone the wedding.
Ellie Mae laid her head in his lap, he played with her hair. "My dad is one of the top neurologist/surgeon's on the east coast Elle baby. She's in good hands." He said
James came out a few hours, Bucky woke her up. "She's going to be fine, I was able to repair the small leak she had." James said
"Thank you James." She said
A nurse took her to see her mom. Once she was awake, she sent Ellie Mae to the hotel to get her few things including her iPad.
