Chapter 11: Bye

It's been two and a half weeks since you decided to help Viggo. Nothing much has happened, there was some flirting here and there, but nothing more. You still pushed away the feeling you got when you were around him. You didn't want to accept how you felt. You let your feelings get a hold of you once, and never again.

The burn has healed, he could open his left eye again, but he couldn't really see out of it. You got him a few things just so the cave wasn't so empty. He got a desk and some other trinkets to help him work. You were even kind enough to get him a tiny boat in case he wanted to go somewhere without you. You visited almost every night to bring supplies and to check up on what his plans were, he won't tell you, sadly. Dark circles formed under your eyes since you started visiting Viggo. He insists you should be getting some sleep, but you say you're fine.

It was another night of visiting Viggo. Every time you would doze off, Navjeev would shake you back awake. You finally got to the cave, Viggo was looking at some papers on the desk, but quickly put them away when he heard wing flaps. Navjeev landed and you sat there for a few seconds to yawn before dismounting.

"(Y/n), you look terrible, go back and sleep. I assure you, I'm fine. You don't need to visit if you're not going to be getting any sleep." Viggo looked up from his desk.

"I'm offended, I always look good. Plus you never get any sleep." You leaned against Navjeev, not because you wanted to look cool, but because you could barely hold yourself up.

"I am use to it, you're not. Please go back."

"What? Is there something you don't want me seeing?" You glanced at the papers on the desk.

"I'm just trying to help you. I'm sure the Riders noticed your lack of sleep." He tried to explain, but you noticed he didn't give you a yes or no answer.

"Fine. Let me just catch a quick nap here so I don't pass out and fall into the ocean on the way back. Hope you don't mind me snoring." You walked over to a corner of the cave.

"Go ahead." He went back to the papers, almost ignoring you. Navjeev curled up in the corner and you sat down next to him, leaning against his side. You would move along with each breath he took. It didn't take long for you to fall asleep.

The sun shining through out the cave woke you up for you to realize you weren't in your hut. You lifted your head, but noticed it didn't feel like you were leaning against Navjeev anymore. You look to your right to see Viggo asleep next to you. He must of sat next to you and Navjeev then went to sleep and you leaned on him in your sleep.  Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. You quickly got up, hoping not to wake either of them.

Looking around, you noticed Viggo left the papers on the desk. Deciding to be a snoop, you grab the papers and start skimming through the words. You read something about a man named Krogan and wanting to meet up to discuss plans on teaming up. You knew Krogan was with the Dragon Hunters. Viggo wasn't considering going along with it, was he? You heard Navjeev yawn and push Viggo off him so he could get up. Viggo groaned from the rude awaking.

"Viggo, what's this?" You held up the papers with a concerned look. He looked at them then quickly got up to take them from you. You ran over to Navjeev, still holding the papers. "Viggo, what are these for?" You asked again.

"They're papers from Krogan asking for an arrangement. He wants to become business partners" He sighed.

"And you're not going along with it, are you?" He was silent. "You've got to be kidding! You can't actually be considering this? He wants to kill the Riders. Me!" Your stance stiffened.

"He is going to try to do that with or without me. I want to ensure he doesn't get too carried away. I'm going to work with him to get information and to get the Dragon Eye back." He spoke sternly.

"The Dragon Eye is gone. It burned in the lava, you should know!" You narrowed your eyes.

"Yes, I would know. I fell into the volcano with it. It didn't fall into the lava and it can withstand any temperatures that volcano has to offer. I want to get the Dragon Eye before Krogan can get too much information out of it."

"Is the Dragon Eye and Krogan all you care about?" You started raising your voice.

"Not at all, I'm trying to help." He matched your tone.

"So you're going to die trying to get the Dragon Eye back?!"

"If that's what it takes, then yes. Why does it matter what I do?"

"I think you know the answer to that!"

"I want to hear you say it!"

"I can't! What if it comes back to haunt me? It has before! I have rejected everyone since then. I don't let anyone get close to me. I push my emotions away! I turn everything into a joke and hope it goes away. And when it doesn't, I run away and leave for months until I feel better about myself! I only let people see what I want them to see. They see someone who can't take a damn thing seriously. They see someone who turns everything into a game. I can't deal with people! I can't let people see what gets to me! I can't trust myself to do anything right in my life! I can't handle my emotions! I can't tell the truth about how I'm feeling! Because. I. Am. WEAK!" Your voice rang though out the cave. Tears threatened to fall, but you couldn't cry. Not now. Not here. Not when someone was watching. Viggo's gaze softened as he reached for you.

"(Y/n)..."

"Good bye!" Your voice was hoarse as you quickly went to mount Navjeev.

"(Y/n), come back!" He pleaded.

You mounted Navjeev and avoided Viggo's gaze. Navjeev raised his head with a stern look to block you. Viggo stopped in font of Navjeev still trying to get to you. Navjeev wouldn't let him get any closer. The dragon lightly growled with a disappointed gaze before taking off.

(Oh, no. Sleepover didn't go so well. Totally not my fault)

You were doing it again, running away from people, like always. You wiped the tears rolling down your face as Navjeev landed on an island far from Viggo's. You immediately fell off of him and sat under a tree. You sat there with your knees up supporting both your arms and your head. Navjeev curled around you and nuzzled your arm. You finally let the tears fall. It happened again. You let someone get close. You realized the argument was your fault. He wanted to help and you made a big deal about it. You started the fight. He wanted to help the Riders by getting information and you were being selfish. It's. Your. Fault.

You looked up and saw a shadow of a dragon flying above you. A Night Fury. Hiccup. He was looking for you. You quickly wiped the tears away and mounted Navjeev to follow him. You flew up behind Hiccup, Toothless cooed when he saw you.

"There you are! Where have you been? You weren't in your hut this morning." Hiccup glided beside you.

"I-I couldn't sleep so I went for a fly." You quickly made and excuse while trying your best to hide your strained voice and puffy eyes.

"Are you okay? You haven't been getting enough sleep and you have been acting weird."

'Are you okay?' The question made the tears want to start falling again, but you held them back.

"Yeah. I'm fine, I promise." You forced a smile. More lies.

I feel evil. Anyways, just wanted to get this chapter out before I lost my ideas for the argument since I won't be able to write for a few days. Also, I kinda want to write a Hunter x Reader story. (For those who don't know, he's from The Owl House.) I'm a daydreamer, so once I get an idea I add more to it. I just want to know what you think of the idea. I probably won't start writing till I'm mostly done with this book. That is all, have a good day!
