A crisp breeze brushed through your hair and across your face. The cold air felt nice and being with Navjeev only made it better. Being away from Berk has helped you a lot, getting away from certain people and all, but you still missed your family, especially Hiccup. Hiccup misses you and wants you to come back but you try not to think about it. Call yourself selfish, but you wanted to get away from Berk to explore, to travel. Finding more Falcon Furies would be a massive bonus. You never liked the idea of being bound to one place. You loved the idea of freedom.
Night crawled into the previous bright blue sky and turned it into a dark blue with scattered stars. The night brought cold and Navjeev wasn't a big fan of the cold. You thankfully saw an island in the distance with lots of trees, it looked like a good enough place to spend the night.
Navjeev landed in a clearing in the trees and you dismounted, stepping softly onto the grass. You looked around the area, trying to find a good place to set up camp. There was a spot where the land was fairly flat with a break in the trees above, perfect. Off to the side, there was a slope heading down to the water with a beach that met the ocean. You started back towards Navjeev to grab supplies from the saddle bags he carried. The dragon was trotting around, sniffing one thing then running off to sniff another.
"Navi, can you come here? How are you not tired?" The young dragon only looked at you, trying to decide on if he should actually listen or not. In the end, he ran over and nearly bumped into you. The joys of having a young, energetic dragon.
You grabbed your things to set up camp and dumped it onto the ground. Night was quickly taking over the sky so you needed to prepare a fire while you could still see. You went around and gathered a few sticks and rocks before sitting down and setting the rocks in a circle and placing the sticks on the inside in a teepee formation to prepare for the fire.
"Navjeev!" You called for the dragon to help light the fire. You could do it yourself, but it was easier this way.
You waited a few moments but Navjeev did not show up. You called again and listened for any evidence that he was coming over. Again, the dragon did not appear and you were only met with the sound of the wind in the trees and the chirping of crickets. There was a snap in the nearby bushes that startled you a bit. That must have been Navjeev, you waited for the dragon to jump out of the bushes but he never did. This was starting to concern you.
You rose to your feet and slowly walked over to the bush where the noise came from. Nothing happened until you were a few meters away from the bush. A fearsome roar echoed through the forest as the giant silhouette of a dragon you never seen before lunged at you. The shock caused you to stumble and fall on your back. Your chested heaved as you sucked in each breath due to the fear and shock of what stood before you. The dragon chittered and took a step closer to you with a growl. You pushed yourself back to keep distance between yourself and the clearly aggressive dragon. The ground seemed to disappear from under you as the last push caused you to start rolling down a slope.
You brought your limbs close to your body as if you were a kid rolling down the hill for fun, but this time it's in hope that you don't break any bones. A slight bump at the bottom of the hill shot you up in the air until you hit the ground again, landing on your back. Pain shot through your body as you landed on the firm ground. You groaned and layed in the grass for a moment to regain your composure. Wingbeats brought themselves down to you and you just hoped it was Navjeev but the way the wingbeats sounded told you it was not. The dragon landed causing the ground the shake, sending vibrations through the dirt beneath. You pushed yourself up and looked at the dark silhouette of the dragon. You've never seen a dragon like it before. It had a sharp muzzle and had horns coming out of its head from what you could tell. It's wings sat further down on it's back and had a long, sharp tail.
For some reason you just looked at the dragon and left it to decide your fate. The dragon opened it's mouth and you could see the orange glow emitting from it. A blinding blast shot the dragon on the neck. It fell to the ground with a shrek and Navjeev jumped out of the trees and stood beside you. He roared while the dragon got back to its feet and roared back it him with just as much power. You didn't even register what was going on, it happened so fast but it also seemed to go in slow motion.
The dragon let out a roar as a warning but Navjeev took it has his sign to attack. He lunged at the dragon and locked his jaws on it's neck where he burned the dragon's scales. It thrashed around, trying to shake him off. The dragon stumbled toward you until it's claws landed on the side of your face before you had any time to react. You crashed against the ground and stopped near a tree. You didn't even feel the pain at first back after a few moment you felt the blood trickle down your face and the stinging pain.
Navjeev jumped off the dragon and landed beside you, his tail curling around you protectively. The dragon shook themselves and let out a roar that seemed to shake the forest itself. Navjeev prepared to fire another blast but before he could, you jumped into the saddle while holding onto the side of your face to reduce getting blood everywhere. Navjeev reluctantly followed your orders and jumped into the sky after realizing your distress.
You got away from that island as fast as Navjeev could fly in fear that dragon would follow. The blood ran down your face and began mixing with glossy tears.
