chapter 34: reno's boyfriend's back and you're gonna get in trouble
~reno~
As I'm at my locker getting everything out for my first period class, I feel someone's hand on my back. I'm about to slam that person up against the locker since I don't like being touched by anyone who isn't my friend, but then I see exactly who it is.
I smile as I wrap my arms around Weisz, hugging him tightly as if I didn't see him yesterday. "You didn't tell me you were allowed to come back to school, let alone leave the house," I say.
"I got the call from my doctor this morning," Weisz says. "He gave me the all clear as long as I still take care of my health. So if the flu is going around or something, I'd have to stay indoors. I'm pretty sure my doctor didn't think I was going to go to school today, but I missed it."
I scrunched my face in disgust. "You missed school?"
"I missed seeing you at school," Weisz says. "Is that better?"
"I mean, you've seen me pretty much everyday, so I don't see how seeing me at school is any different."
Weisz ruffles my hair. "I can head home, if you want."
I just smile up at him. "I'm just teasing you." I know I shouldn't show too much PDA at school, but I can't help but press my lips on Weisz's. I'm just so happy that he's doing well enough to come back to school, and to leave the house.
The kiss doesn't last too long since Weisz and I both pull away from each other. Weisz smiles at me. "So since I've been extremely bored having to stay in my house for the past few weeks, want to hang out after school?"
"Yeah," I say. "I would love to. Any place you want to go?"
"Everywhere."
"Yeah, you're going to have to be more specific. Because when I hear everywhere, I'm think of a certain place where you love getting down and dirty."
Weisz glares at me, but his cheeks blush as well. "Stop saying that I have a thing for doing stuff in your car."
"I mean, I didn't specify that I was talking about my car so it's kind of interesting that it's the first place that you thought of."
"It's the only place that you like to infer that we do stuff in there."
"We have done stuff in there."
Weisz's face only reddened a lot more at the mention of stuff we've done in my car. I know I should stop teasing him, but I also like seeing him blush this much. Teasing him is one of my favourite things to do.
The bell rings, so the two of us head to our first period class. The moment we walk into the class, Ms. Maywood smiles at me. "Weisz, welcome back. I assume you're doing well."
Weisz nods as he opens his backpack and takes out a folder. "I am." He hands the folder to Ms. Maywood. "Here are the assignments you assigned to me to do while I was at home."
Ms. Maywood takes the folder from Weisz. "Ah, perfect. I'll try to mark them and give them back to you as soon as possible. Is there anything you need help understanding before class?"
Weisz shakes my head. "No, Reno helped me out a lot."
"That's good," Ms. Maywood says. "Well, I'll be here to help if you ever do need it. I know it's sometimes tough learning on your own and not in class, so it's good you had a friend helping out."
"I've been friendzoned," I say.
Weisz gently pushes me towards the back of the class where my desk is. "Stop that."
I just smile at Weisz before I take my seat in the very back. It's a shame that this class has a seating arrangement because I would very much like to sit by Weisz. At least since he's sitting in front of me, I can check him out as much as I like.
Which is basically what I do throughout the class. Of course, I still pay attention, but I also can't help but stare at Weisz a few times. He's just so beautiful.
When second period rolls around, Weisz decides to walk me to class, which only makes me wish we shared this class together. Am I too clingy for wanting to share all of our classes when I can handle just over an hour without Weisz? Probably. I don't care.
Before I walk into my class, I wrap my arms around Weisz's neck and basically hang myself off of his. "You know what you should do? Come to class with me."
"I'm pretty sure I'd get in trouble for not going to my own class," Weisz says, though that doesn't stop him from wrapping his arms around my waist. "And it's probably best not for me to get in trouble on my first day back."
"You can just convince my teacher that you've been in that class the entire time," I say. "Make him think that he forgot you or something since you've been away for a few weeks. You can even say that you attendance list is wrong. That it got changed because you've been out for a while."
"Tempting," Weisz says. "But I also have to give my other teachers the work I did while I was out home. You'll survive without me."
"I don't think I will."
Weisz just smiles at me before giving me a quick kiss. "I'll see you at lunch."
"Ooh, we can have lunch in my car."
My suggestion was clearly me hinting at something, which Weisz immediately understood. His cheeks redden before he says, "Bye," then walks away to get to his class. I just love teasing him.
By the time lunch rolls around, I can already hear people talking about how the Weisz Brooks is back at school. I wasn't lying when I told Weisz that everyone is crushing on him, so it's no surprise that everyone is talking about his turn. At least they won't be spreading rumours about how I murdered him.
I still don't get how anyone would believe that.
One of the few people who hasn't yet heard that Weisz is back is none other than Neil, because he does his daily routine of bothering my when I'm at my locker at the beginning of lunch. "So, I have a question," Neil says.
"Whatever your question is, my answer is going to be to leave me alone," I say.
Neil ignores me. "Has Weisz dumped your ass yet?"
I furrow my eyebrows. "No? Why would he?"
"Because I do not know what he sees in you at all," Neil says. "Surely, he's going to break up with you sooner or later. Hopefully, sooner."
"You just don't know when to give him, do you?" Weisz suddenly asks, now standing behind Neil. "Seriously, can you just stay out of my relationship?"
Neil turns around. "Weisz. You're back."
"I am," Weisz says. "Now can you please leave my boyfriend the fuck alone? He hasn't done anything to you, so get over it."
Neil walks away, thankfully. I wish I can shut him up as fast as Weisz can.
Weisz walks over to me and leans against the locker beside mine. "What is his obsession with our relationship?"
I shrug. "I wish I knew."
