"Oh shit!", Maddie screamed while running. After what felt like an hour of running, Maddie was pulled behind a big vine-looking thing by Nancy. "Are you okay?", Maddie questioned immediately. Receiving a quick nod from Nancy, Maddie slowly peeked around the corner not seeing the monster but hearing a very familiar voice. "Mads?! Nancy?!", Jonathan shouted from above them. "Jonathan!", Nancy yelled loudly starting to move forward followed by Maddie pulling her back successfully silencing her with a finger to her mouth. "Nancy?! Mads?! Follow my voice!", Jonathan shouted causing Nancy to start running.

The two girls continued to run towards the voice of Jonathan while Nancy continued to yell even against Maddie's wishes. Right as the entrance to the real world was in view the monster started gaining on the two girls rather fast. Nancy started whimpering lightly while Maddie tried to come up with a good idea fast. The first idea that came to her mind was a rather reckless one but it would give Nancy time to get out and reach Jonathan.

"Nancy when I give the signal, run like hell!", Maddie shouted towards Nancy. "What?!", Nancy asked Maddie. "Just trust me Nance!", Maddie stated causing Nancy to nod. Maddie only gave Nancy a small nod before pulling out her gun. As soon as she had the gun in her hand she started shooting at the monster causing it to turn to her with a snarl before charging after her directly. After successfully distracting the monster enough for Nancy to reach Jonathan, Maddie decided it was finally her cue to get the hell out of there.

As she remained shooting the monster she realized that it did not really affect the monster. After noticing this, she tucked her gun away and made a run to the exit with the monster hot on her trail. Once she made it to the exit, Maddie started her climb up to the entrance of the tree. On her way up she felt a searing pain go through her stomach but she just assumed it was from the sticks and branches poking her stomach as she finally made it to a space where the monster did not decide to follow her anymore shocking the teen. Reaching her hand through the slimy part of the tree she heard yells coming from Nancy and Jonathan before she was completely pulled out. Maddie was immediately pulled into a group hug as soon as her whole body was out of that hell hole. She sighed in relief while squeezing the other two teens very hard, just to make sure she wasn't dreaming. However, there was still one question going through the teen's mind , "Why did it stop following me?".

Once everyone was accounted for, Maddie got off of the ground causing both of the other teens to do the same. "We should probably get home. It's late", Maddie said with a small smile. "Are you sure you're okay?", Jonathan asked Maddie who looked a little pale in the face. "I'm fine Jon, really?", Maddie said starting to walk away. "Addie", Nancy said stopping Maddie from walking away. "Thank you", Nancy continued with a grateful smile. "No problem. I guess I just couldn't let my best friend die", Maddie stated with a small smile before walking to her car.

Once she got close enough to her car she leaned on it using it for support. She finally lifted up her shirt to reveal a large gash on her stomach that was gushing blood. "Mads?!", Jonathan questioned causing Maddie to turn quickly and loose her balance. She then started to collapse to the ground before Jonathan caught her in his arms. "What's going on?!", Nancy asked alarmed before looking at the gash on Maddie's stomach that was now visible. "Oh my god", Nancy mumbled to herself. "What are you guys doing here?", Maddie asked breathing heavily. "We were coming to give you this", Jonathan said while holding up Maddie's gun. "Damn it", Maddie mumbled under breath. "Look I'm fine just go home", Maddie stated dismissively starting to stand up only to fall back down. "We have got to get her to a hospital", Nancy quickly stated. "I have a better idea", Jonathan stated before picking Maddie up slowly causing her to grunt in pain. Nancy immediately started the car while Jonathan was applying pressure to Maddie's wound.
