Maddie was woken up this morning with two large bodies falling on top of her. She opened her eyes a little only to see two smiling faces looking back at her. Maddie rolled her eyes while Eleven and Will both burst out laughing.
The teen rolled her eyes before shoving the kids off of her. "Come on Mads", Will said lightly while chuckling. "Mike's coming today! And we are leaving in twenty minutes", Eleven added. Maddie sighed before getting up and starting to pull an outfit together.
Maddie exited her room and walked into the kitchen. She saw Joyce on the phone while the rest of the kids ate breakfast. Maddie watched Joyce with a nervous look. Maddie had never seen her mom look as tired and anxious as she did right now since Will went missing.
Joyce hung up the phone with a sigh and Maddie walked towards her. "Hey Mom. Are you sure you don't want me to stay here with you guys? You know in case you need backup?", Maddie asked her mom.
"No, honey. It's okay. Just go have fun with your friends", Joyce replied before they both heard Jonathan yelling about how Argyle is waiting. Maddie and Joyce shared a long hug before pulling away from each other.
"I love you", Maddie stated softly. "I love you", Joyce responded with a smile. The two women heard another yell causing Maddie to exclaim, "I'm coming!". Maddie quickly gathered her things before putting her headphones on and getting into Argyle's van.
Maddie arrived at the airport about an hour before her flight. She said a very long goodbye to her family before heading through security.
After hustling through the entire airport looking for her gate, she finally found it. She waited roughly thirty minutes before she was able to board the plane.
The ride was fairly smooth and the plane was just about to touch down in Hawkins. All of the sudden Maddie felt something wet dripping from her nose.
She quickly looked down to see a red substance covering her shirt and now hands.
"Shit", Maddie mumbled out while grabbing as many napkins as she could.Maddie stopped the bleeding as quickly as possible before resting back in her seat, wondering, "What the hell was that".
After going through a long ten minutes of baggage claim, Maddie finally made her way to the front of Hawkins airport. A tiny smile made its way onto the girl's face after seeing a very familiar head of hair.
"Hey, Stevie", Maddie said from behind Steve causing him to jump in shock. Steve tried to play it off cool bye swiftly stating, "Hey, Addie". Maddie and Steve quickly hugged each other tightly before getting into Steve's car.
On the way to Steve's workplace, he explained to Maddie that he had to go to work in which Maddie replied that she would go with him so she could spend more time with him and Robin.
When the two teens entered the store, Robin looked up tiredly before her eyes widened. "Addie", Robin said with a large smile. "Hey, Ro", Maddie replied while hugging the girl tightly.
After a couple of minutes catching up, Robin started to talk about her Vicki problems. "Then Vicki laughed. And it wasn't like a cheap, fake laugh either. It was like... It was a real, genuine laugh", Robin started while all three teens stocked the shelves with movies.
"Of course. It's my Muppet joke. It's hilarious", Steve stated causing Maddie to chuckle lightly. "My point is that Vicki laughed and everything was just like... it was perfect", Robin continued.
"But", Steve and Maddie said at the same time. "But I'm having this problem where it's like, I should stop taking. I have said everything I need to say. But then I guess I get nervous, and the words keep spilling out", Robin ranted on.
"And it's like my... my brain is moving faster than my mouth, or... or rather, my... my mouth is moving faster than my brain. I'm digging this hole for myself and I want to stop digging, I'm trying to stop, but I can't. And I'm doing it right now, aren't I?", Robin questioned out slightly annoyed with herself.
"Yeah, you are", Steve answered nonchalantly causing Maddie to jab him in his ribs slightly. "Oh, I'm hopeless", Robin said while leaning against a poster. "Eh, we both are", Steve replied.
"If only we could just, like, combine", Robin stated causing the other two teens to looked at her confused. "Combine?", Steve asked.
"No, think about it. I know exactly what I want, and I've found the girl of my dreams, but I just can't get the courage to ask her out", Robin started to explain while Steve mumbled out a "Mm".
"Meanwhile, you go on a million dates. And you have no idea what you want. So is we just combined, all of our problems would be solved. Because, I mean, alone, let's face it...",
Robin continued trying to get Steve into following her plan."We totally suck", Steve added with a small smile resting on his face. "Totally and utterly", Robin responded with smirk.
"Ooh, I think I found our morning movie", Robin muttered out before running across the store. "Doctor Zhivago", Robin yelled out causing Maddie and Steve to both sigh.
"Ugh, you know I don't do double VHS", Steve said dismissively. "But it's about doomed love", Robin exclaimed while squeezing the movie tightly towards her chest.
"Oh, well, that's relatable", Steve replied causing Robin to state, "Precisely". "Also, Julie Christie is b-b-bonkers hot in this. Like seriously, the most beautiful creature I have seen in my life", Robin finished before turning on the television.
"Holy shit", Steve stated shocked while watching the news women describe how a Hawkins High student was brutally murdered.
Less than thirty minutes later, two kids walked in the door causing the two teenagers to look at them. Maddie was in the bathroom trying to stop her bloody nose from running.
She finally exited the bathroom after hearing new voices, to see Dustin and Max staring at her in shock while she gave them a small smile in return.
