The Protector

The Piggyback Part 2

"In fact... I'm glad it's going to be you. You will be the chosen one. The fourth. The final sacrifice. It's going to be you that breaks the world", Lucas stated while his voice deepened. Maddie kept backing away from the boy.

"Where are you going? Don't be scared", Lucas said. "Stay away from me you dick!", Maddie told the boy. "Maddie, I thought you said you were ready. Ready to disappear", Lucas stated confused.

"Leave me alone!", Maddie shouted while hitting the boy over the head with a candlestick before running away.

Maddie tried to run out of the front door only to find it covered with wooden planks that wouldn't budge.

"Where are you going, Madison?", Vecna questioned the girl walking down the stairs in his true form. Maddie looked once more to the door before running into another room.

Maddie tried another door only to find more wooden planks. "Damn it", Maddie cursed before trying yet another door.

This door revealed Billy in the sauna screaming, "Let me out of here! Addie open the door! Open the door!".

Billy started to break through the door causing Maddie to think of a positive memory. Maddie thought for a moment before opening her eyes.

"Holy shit", Maddie muttered looking around. She smiled looking at the memory she picked. Enzo's restaurant. 

Maddie was currently sitting at the same table she sat at with Billy while waiting. All of the sudden she heard a loud shatter. She quickly turned towards the sound to find a broken glass.

More glasses started to break and turn into blood. The background music started to fade in and out, while the rest of her memory started to decay into blood and dead flowers.

"Great", Maddie mumbled out while rubbing her head. It finally started to "snow" in her memory while the lights darkened. Finally the red storm appeared. "Oh shit", Maddie said looking around. 

A new song started to play throughout the restaurant while Maddie started to barricade the main entrances.

She went to grab another chair to use. When she turned back to the barricaded door, she found the door to the Creel house in its place.

The door opened slowly while Vecna's voice rang out throughout the gym, "You can't hide from me, Maddie".

Maddie started to panic before taking a deep breath. She thought back to a different memory that would work just as well.

"You think I don't see what you're doing? You think I don't see everything? You thought you could trick me? You thought your friends could stop me? I see them. I see your friends. Just as clearly as I see you. I can feel them... dying", Vecna told the girl while showing her her friends.

"No!", Maddie yelled out. "It's time, Maddie", Vecna stated while a clock chimed. "Dream a Little Dream of Me" started to play again throughout the restaurant.

Maddie looked around with a determined look on her face. "Let them go you asshole! You can have me, just let them go!", Maddie shouted.

The girl turned around to come face to face with Vecna. "It's time", Vecna said before launching Maddie into the wall of the restaurant.

Maddie grunts in pain while trying to get off of the wall while Vecna approached her. "You are brave, Madison. Much braver than your boyfriend or your sister", Vecna taunted causing Maddie to glare angrily at the monster before trying to break free of the invisible restraints.

"But in the end... you are weak and fragile. Just like them. Like all the rest of them. Just like Max said. And you will break", Vecna told the girl.

"They are both stronger than you think. And Max didn't mean that", Maddie grunted out causing Vecna to look at the girl before raising his hand. Before he could begin, he was thrown away from Maddie.  

Maddie slid down onto the floor of the restaurant while looking towards a floating Vecna. All of the sudden a determined looking Eleven walked into the restaurant behind Vecna.

"El", Maddie muttered in disbelief. "You", Vecna stated angrily. "Hi", Eleven responded before throwing Vecna into the wall.

Maddie slowly stood up grunting in pain while Eleven ran to her. "Maddie are you okay?", Eleven asked. "Are you real? Did I make you?", Maddie questioned while squeezing Eleven's cheeks.

"I'm real", Eleven replied. "How?", Maddie asked. "I piggybacked from a pizza dough freezer", Eleven told the girl. "Okay?", Maddie said confused.

Maddie quickly squeezed Eleven tightly. "This has been a pretty shitty vacation. How are the boys and mom?", Maddie questioned. "They are fine. They are all fine", Eleven answered unconvincingly causing Maddie to give her a disapproving look.

"I love your hair. It reminds me of baby El", Maddie added with a smile while running her hand over the girl's short hair causing Eleven to smile back before hugging Maddie again. "How do you have your powers?", Maddie asked.

"It's complicated", Eleven responded. "Okay, back to the boys and mom. Why did you lie? Friends don't lie", Maddie stated causing Eleven's face to pale.

Before Eleven had to answer, the two teens heard a loud noise coming from the hole in the wall. "We are not done talking about this", Maddie told Eleven while stepping in front of the girl. 

Vecna came through the hole causing Eleven to say, "Stay back". "El..", Maddie started only for Eleven to move forward while holding Maddie in place.

"If you touch her again, I will kill you again", Eleven stated. "Is that what you did? Did you kill me? I am so glad you are here, Eleven. This.. is going to be beautiful", Vecna said causing Maddie to try and walk forward.

Eleven held her back while looking at Vecna angrily. "So beautiful. And it's all thanks to you", Vecna stated before launching wooden spears at Eleven who let go of her hold on Maddie to deflect the wood into the opposite wall.

Eleven was then tossed into two separate tables. Maddie quickly ran to get two of the wooden spears from the wall. She quickly charged at Vecna and stuck him in the back with one of her spears.

Before she could stick her other one into his throat she was stopped. Maddie was then thrown into the wall causing her to lay there in pain while her eyes started to blur.

Maddie watched as Vecna lifted Eleven into the air. "No", Maddie mumbled out trying and failing to get off of the ground.

"Before I kill you... I want you to watch", Vecna said before tossing Eleven and Maddie into the red storm.
