Maddie quickly looked towards the door from behind Eddie to see her friends looking at them with amused expressions.
"Delivery service", Dustin said with a smile causing Maddie and Eddie to let out a breath of relief.
Steve waved mockingly at Maddie while Robin and Max smirked lightly. Maddie looked at Steve with daggers in her eyes before going around Eddie to sit on the couch.
Eddie was sitting on the couch next to Maddie while eating his Honey Combs and drinking a beer. "So we got, uh, some good news and some bad news. How do you prefer it?", Dustin questioned.
"Bad news first, always", Eddie replied. "All right, bad news. We tapped into the Hawkins PD dispatch with our Cerebro, and they're definitely looking for you. Also, they're, uh, pretty convinced you killed Chrissy", Dustin told Eddie.
"Like, 100% kind of convinced", Max added. "And the good news?", Eddie asked while offering Maddie some Honey Combs.
"Your name hasn't gone public yet", Robin started while Maddie took a handful of Eddie's food before looking back towards Robin.
"But if we found out about you, it's only a matter of time before others do to. And once that gets out, everyone and their shallow-minded mother is going to be gunning for you", Robin finished.
"Hunt the freak, right?", Eddie questioned bitterly causing Maddie to frown slightly. "Exactly", Robin answered bluntly. "Shit", Eddie mumbled.
"So, before that happens, we find Vecna, kill him, and prove your innocence", Dustin stated like it was the easiest thing in the world. "That's all, Dustin? That's all?", Eddie asked sarcastically.
"Yeah, no, that's pretty much it", Dustin responded. Maddie rolled her eyes while Robin said, "Listen, Eddie, I know everything Dustin is saying sounds totally delusional, but we've actually been through this kinda thing before. I mean, they have a... a few times".
Eddie looked towards Steve who nodded confidently and then towards Maddie who confirmed his suspicion.
"Mine was more human-flesh-based, theirs was more smoke-related, but bottom line is, collectively, I really feel like we got this", Robin finished.
"We usually rely on this girl who has super powers. But, uh, those went bye-bye, so...", Steve stated causing Eddie to looks towards Maddie who was already looking down.
"So we're technically in more of the", "Kinda", Robin and Steve said while trying to think of the right words. "Brainstorming phase", Max finished for the teens.
"Brainstorming", Steve stated again. Maddie looked up from the ground with a nervous look on her face. She made eye contact with Eddie who shared her expression before Dustin stuttered out, "There... There's nothing to worry about".
Eddie and Maddie gave each other a "really" face before looking back towards Steve and Dustin who were still smiling. The group heard sirens in the distance causing everyone to look out in alarm.
"Shit", Maddie and Steve whispered at the same time. "Boat", "Tarp", Maddie and Robin said at the same time. Eddie quickly covered himself while the rest of the group ran to the windows.
The group quickly saw an ambulance, fire truck, and a couple of police cars drove down the road.
After a moment, the group decided to check it out. Everyone was getting ready to leave, including Maddie. Before she could make it far she felt someone grab her wrist lightly causing her to turn around.
