I hated leaving Eden alone in bed but left a little gift for her to wake up to instead of me. I was head over heels for the girl. Normally that would scare me, but everything with her felt right and good.

I waltzed into the gym with a goofy grin on my face, as Bennett so happily pointed out.

"You look like a schmuck in love who used to be my best friend." He smacked my back as I passed by.

"Used to be?" I raised a brow.

"You never hang with me anymore." He pouted with a laugh.

"How'd your date go?" Indirectly reminding him of his own love life and changing the subject.

"Don't ask." He grumbled. I couldn't help but laugh, the player had met his match, and it would be fun to watch.

"I already like this chick."

"Fuck you." He threw a towel at me as we started our morning routine.

After our workout, morning meeting, and lunch, there were a few hours to kill before game time. I knew Eden would be working, and I didn't want to disturb her, so I sent off a text just to let her know I was thinking of her and took a moment to call my Dad.

"I'm fine. It's annoying how everyone keeps checking on me like I'm some baby." He growled.

"Checking on you like we care?" I countered.

"Ready for the game today?" He changed the subject.

"Of course. We're playing Atlanta next month; there's a few days off after that, so I think I'll hang around for a visit."

"Awesome. I'll be there, and I hope you can stay here at least one night."

"Sounds like a plan. I gotta run; love you, Dad."

I also gave my Mom and sisters a quick call, figuring I'd do all my check-ins at once. But, of course, they were all excited about my plans to stay after next month's game. I hadn't mentioned it to Eden yet, but I was hoping I could convince her to tag along as well.

Before I knew it, game time was approaching, and we dressed in our gear and prepared to take the field for quick warm-ups. I felt much better this time taking the field, knowing that Eden would be there. I couldn't wait to see her.

It didn't take long after all the pre-game ceremonial stuff was complete for me to find her in the stands. She sat with Brynn and Tate. She was fucking adorable. I could see she was wearing my jersey, which did things I'd never felt before to my heart. However, no one other than my Mom and sisters had ever worn my jersey either.

When they announced me as I ran out, I could hear extra whistles and screams. I looked over to see Eden and Brynn both on their feet. I shook my head with a smile, giving them a quick wave before lining up with the guys. The first half of the game went by quickly and pretty seamlessly. We were up by three goals, two of those scored by myself. Just as the whistle blew for half, I made sure to run closer to the area where Eden was sitting.

When I saw her decked out in gear to support me, her hair tied up, her cheeks flushed from all the screaming, I rushed to the side and pulled myself up, motioning for her to come closer. But, instead, Eden covered her face as she stood, nerves getting the best of her, I'm sure, and made her way to me.

"Having fun?" I breathed out.

"Yes, of course!" She giggled.

"Can I have a good luck kiss?" I teased, holding onto the railing.
