"VIOLET!" RHONA'S VOICE PIERCED THROUGH the air, jolting me out of my thoughts. I turned to face her, my eyes wide with confusion. "How did you do that?" she demanded, pointing her finger at the table that had just returned to its upright position.

I followed her finger and my mind raced with bewilderment. The table had been flipped over just moments ago, and now it was back to its original position. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

"You know," Ethan chimed in, "ever since you've become a vampire, you've been having some crazy gifts."

I didn't know how to respond to that. All I could think about was the table. I could have sworn it was flipped over, close to the wall on my left. And Rhona was telling me that I did it? I somehow put the table back as it was.

"You're sure it was me?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

"Yes," Simon replied, his eyes wide with disbelief.

"Violet, we just saw it," Alana added, her voice filled with excitement.

"What were you doing?" Joseph questioned me, his eyes searching mine for answers.

I shook my head, still trying to process what had just happened. "I don't know," I said, my voice barely audible. "I just...I just wanted the table to be back to its original position."

Everyone stared at me in disbelief, their eyes wide with wonder. I couldn't believe it myself. Was this really happening? Was I really capable of such things?

"Violet, what were you doing?" I heard Joseph asking the question that pierced through the silence, like a sharp knife cutting through butter.

"I... I was reminiscing about my childhood," I confessed, my voice barely above a whisper. "You know, back when I was still human. When I was just a mere eight-year-old. My father... Gavin, he had a temper. He would flip tables over when he got angry."

"Ahh, so that's what you were up to," Ethan chimed in, his voice laced with amusement.

"What do you mean?" I asked, my heart racing with confusion. "Rhona would have seen my memories."

"Violet, I tried, but I couldn't," Rhona interjected, her voice soft and apologetic. "It was like something was blocking my way."

"What?" I exclaimed, my mind reeling with disbelief. "Ro, you can... You showed me your power when we were in the woods, and..."

"And I thought Uncle Joe was greedy when it came to gifts," Ethan interrupted, his words dripping with sarcasm. I turned to him, my eyes blazing with anger.

"What in the name of all that is holy?" I exclaimed, my voice laced with disbelief.

Ethan's words hung in the air like a haunting melody, taunting me with their eerie tune. My mind raced, trying to make sense of what he had just revealed.

"Uncle Joe has more gifts before you come along," he repeated, his voice dripping with a sickly sweetness.

I felt a surge of anger rise within me, threatening to spill over like a boiling cauldron. "Shut up," I hissed, my eyes narrowed into slits.

But Ethan was undeterred. "What? You guys were talking about that ages ago," he said, gesturing towards Joseph, Rhona, and me.

Crap. He knew. He knew everything.

Joseph's voice cut through the tense silence like a knife. "And how do you know we were even talking about that?"

Ethan's response was chilling. "We're vampires. We have great hearing. Plus, I was just coming back from the swimming pool."
