clandestine meetings and longing stares.

___

CHARLIE HAD CLUNG TO HIS sister's side throughout the day. His normal routine would consist of parking his car, finding Jackson's beside him, and staying with him for most of the day. They're usually inseparable, other than the few classes they do not share. It had been like that for a while, the two boys spending their time together. Years, even. Charlie's separation anxiety only worsened after his father passed. Jackson didn't mind, he had broken up with Lydia and his schedule had been freed. They'd go to parties together, lacrosse practice, even grabbed food after games.

He couldn't speak to Jackson the same way Paxton couldn't speak to her own friends; not under the public eye.

Before she had met with Allison, she noticed a handful of camera's being plugged into the ceiling. Scattered throughout every hall, at each corner of the school.

The girls, and Charlie, make their way to the library. Using their lunch period to hide from the cameras. So far, they had only been set up in the halls. The library, gym, and cafeteria would be an after school project since the three rooms hold a majority of students at all times.

So they had three options before they had to resort to no communication at all. Well, those three choices or any bathroom and locker room.

Inside the tall library, Allison, Paxton, and Charlie split up. Weaving in and out of numerous bookcases until they come to the fifth row of shelving. Allison's the first there, pretending to scan for a book.

When the siblings come to her side, she slides a book out of its cubby, revealing the other side of the shelf. Scott and Stiles peak their heads through the gap, greeting the group as discreetly as possible.

Allison digs through her bag, bringing out a tablet from its pocket. She hands it to Scott through the shelf. "That's everything Lydia translated from the bestiary."

He scrolls through the long transcripts, Stiles looking over his shoulder. "Yeah, what'd you tell her?"

She turns to Paxton with a smile. "That we're apart of an online gaming community that battles mythical creatures."

Paxton tilts her head, peaking through the opening of the shelf so she could find Stiles' reaction. "I am apart of an online gaming community that battles mythical creatures," he informs Allison while he and Paxton share a ridiculous grin.

She could remember the many conversations he had about the subject.

"Oh, that's cool," Allison smiles awkwardly, attempting to sound genuine.

"Does it say anything about who controls him?" Paxton questions, forcing her mind away from Stiles.

"No, not really. But Stiles was right about the murderer part," Allison answers. Scott continues reading the translations.

"Yes!" Stiles cheers, rather loudly. Scott slaps his side in hopes that he hadn't drawn attention to them.

"It calls the kanima a 'weapon of vengeance'. There's a story in there about this South American priest who used the kanima to execute murderers in his village-"
