CHAPTER 20

"Prince Heinley is nothing like his rumors.He's a surprisingly good person"

I thought it would be helpful if I could change any of the rumors about Prince Heinley with my own words...

"He is!He immediately cleared all the rumors about the Empress and highlighted the Empress's hardwork!"

"Yes.He's a jolly character,but not flippant. He's quite serious at times as well"

"I'm just relieved that the truth in the rumors about the Empress and the Prince has been revealed "

However, Artina, who was silently standing by the door, immediately threw cold water into situation.

"I doubt it.The guests was spinning a different tale"

At Artina's certain tone, the ladies-in-waiting all turned to him with questioning expressions. The knight nervously scratched his cheek, as if overwhelmed by the ladies looking at him all at once.

"What?What did they say?"

"That the Empress was so wonderful and charming...that his majesty and Prince Heinley almost dueled over her"

The ladies-in-waiting all turned to me and I gave them an awkward smile

I can't really do anything about that story

It does do me good so I'll just stay quiet

It may stir some trouble but what matters is that piece of shit is suffering

Everyone then started gossiping among themselves and I stayed quiet to myself

Then there was a tap on the window.

"Queen!"

It had been several days since he came here last, and I quickly got up and opened the window to let him in. I was so happy to see him after such a long time that I held him tightly.

"It's been so long!I've missed you"

Queen embraced me with his wings, and everyone turned to us and Laura gave a giggle.

"That bird is so odd.Look at the way it freezes up whenever her majesty hugs it"

I went into my seat and gently placed him on my lap and stroked his head.

Queen's large purple eyes closed as he dozed off, but occasionally he startled and looked at me.

"Oh"

I almost forgot to check the note on his leg. I took the piece of paper,patted Queen and opened it.

"That was fun wasn't it,My Queen?Did I do a good job?"

I gave a giggle at how silly his message is

It's completely different from the original

Looks like we're getting much closer than expected

I smiled at the note and Queen tapped me on the arm

I looked down at him and I petted his head again

I should send him a reply and praise him for what he did

That way,he'd feel closer with me

My Empress wanted to remain penpals to avoid adding fuel to the fire about her and Prince Heinley but the circumstances has changed so I will change too

I took out a paper and pen.

"You did a great job back there.But I was hoping you would keep our exchanges a secret.And I do look forward for more letters and time with you"

Queen watched me patiently as I wrote. As soon as I lifted my hand from the paper, he checked the contents, then made a strange noises and started jumping up and down.

- Gu! Gu! Gu!

I patted him again then tied the letter to his leg

I let him go his way and i went back to my seat

I did some thinking and i realized things are completely out of sync with the story i know

Soon enough,i wont know what i would be dealing with

I need to be more cautious with my actions and words if i want things to go my way

My goal is to change my Empress's life for the better and make sure she gets the life she deserves when she gets back

She was destined for a happy life with Heinley already but with my actions,im risking all of that

I have to make things up to her by enduring and handling all the problems coming my way

Its gonna be harder from now on so whatever happens,i have to make sure i persevere and make it through the end

I can't disappoint my Empress any further
