"Prem... kya kar raha hai.. " and Prem looked up to see his mother sitting next to him.
She handed him his coffee and he smiled. "Aapne banayi..."
"Nahi.. Preeti ne.. maine kaha main de aati hoon.. aur tujhse poochti hoon.. ke yeh kamm kyun nahi karta peena..."
"Maaa..." he groaned as he sipped his coffee and leaned back.
"Kya sukoon deti hai tujhe yeh..." she asked him annoyed and he smiled. "Adat bann gayi hai..."
He put his phone away and smiled as she asked "tu kaam mein hai.."
"Kuch khaas nahi.. bas emails check kar raha tha.."
"Ravivaar shaam bhi tujhe yeh emails aate hain..."
He smiled as he sipped his coffee. "Sunday ko internal office ke saare email dekhta hoon aur kal ki tayyari..."
"Tujhe fursat kab milti hai.. baat karne ki.. kisi ke saath baithne ki.. jab bhi dekhoon tujhe bas kaam mein laga hota hai.."
"Jab jab aap bulayein.. main bilkul free hoon.."
"Tho Holi par ghar aaja.."
Prem hugged his mother sideways and she leaned into him. "M sorry Maa... iske aage aap jo bhi maango aapka hai.. aur holi ke din, raat thak aa jaonga agar zaroori hai tho.."
"Kya faida hoga uska... wahin reh tu.." she smiled and he kissed her head. "Aap jo kaho iske badle aapka hai..."
"Tho yeh bata.. tu khush hai.. sab theek hai.."
"Aapko aisa kyun lagta hai Maa ke main khush nahi hoon.."
"Maa ko bachhon ki khushi saath rehne se dikhti hai.. tu aata jitni jaldi mein hai.. jaata usse zaida jaldi mein hai.. aur jab dikhta hai.. bas kaam mein..."
Prem smiled he looked at her and she continued, "tu bulata hai Preeti ko, tho bas Coffee ke liye.." and Prem looked at her. "Shaadi se pehle tu aata tha tho usse dekh teri aankhon mein khushi hoti thi.. milta tha usse... aisa lagta tha kaam ke bahar bhi duniya hai teri.."
Prem looked at her and she smiled, "aise matt dekh mujhe.. itna tho jaanti hoon tujhe.. bhale thoda sahi.. par woh waqt uska tha.. par ab tho tu.. tera phone.. tera IPad.. aur bas kaam ke peeche nazar aata hai.."
"Main khush hoon Maa.." he hugged her and she poked his chest. "Aur Preeti.."
"Usse khush rakhne ki poori koshish karta hoon..."
"Iss liye woh itne tamatar ke dabbe le aayi... Pakane ka shauk hai usse... par itna nahi ke itna experiment kare.. tu dhyaan de uss par tho woh yeh nahi karegi..."
Prem bit back a smile and kissed his mother's head. "Woh galati tho meri hai..." and he narrated his part in the issue and she hit his chest again. "Tu waqt deta hai na usse.."
"Haan Maa.. par mujhe aisa lagta hai main aapko waqt nahi deta.." and she shook her head as he kissed her head again. "Mere saath bahar chalengi aap Maa.."
"Tu Preeti se bhi aise hi poochta hai.."
"Abhi tho aapse pooch raha hoon.. Papa bhi apne doston ke saath hain.."
Vinod came up then with the rest of them. "Bade Bhaiyya.. main tho Mami ke paas shift ho raha hoon... Maa ko Vansh ke baad aaj bhi Prem bhaiyya hi dikhte hain.."
They all laughed as Sadhna bhabhi said, "chalo Preeti, hume dinner par woh Tomato Rice try karna hai..." and Prem pulled his Maa close to him.
"I am sorry... par main aur Maa aaj dinner par nahi hain.."
